recovery from the sanctions I expect PSU to lose. My hear says PSU, but I head says Michigan. Our Oline and special teams are just too weak to expect a victory against Michigan. With that being said, we do have a lot of the intangibles in our favor. Home Game. Coming off a bye week. White Out. Michigan lost their best run stopper. Saquon Barkley coming off some rest.
This is a huge huge game for Franklin. He needs a signature win to keep recruiting momentum going in the right direction. It's been debated on whether or not this is a MUST win game. It's surely not a must win game for a 2nd year coach walking into the situation PSU was in, but let's not kid ourselves. The balance of power is hanging on this game. Everyone knows Michigan is rising and there can only be two strong teams out of the East. Once the effects of the sanctions are gone, beating Michigan and Ohio State regularly is paramount. My hope is that our fan base expects that, just like Michigan and Ohio State fans expect to beat each other and PSU regularly. We know John Cooper had some excellent teams and records at OSU, but it didn't matter cause he couldn't beat Michigan.
