Big Ten predictions

if you toss out the Stanford match--Cenzo is 5 points from being undefeated--I do believe he will be ready for big10 I can see him getting into the finals---I hope it is Jordon that he meets in the semi.. I do believe that Cenzo has a freestyle win over Massa--but folk style in different..

Cenzo will be seeded 4th: That gaff against Jordan cost dearly. Still, either find a way against Imar, who he is very close to, probably closer than anyone, OR, beat Massa or Jordan(who he really already beat if not for a mental lapse at the end), and the 3 seed at Nationals is his, and a very good shot at the finals.

So what happens when he starts the matches and INJ defaults out after a couple seconds instead of MFF...

Woah there Nellie, I also predicted he would go for a match or two, then mff out.
Why am I paying up? Did I miss something? I have routinely said I do not expect Nick to wrestle the entire tournament. I expect him to take a whistle on Saturday, only Saturday and take another whistle in 2 weeks.

I'm not paying anything for merely pointing out the rule.

Someone is trying to mooch beers. Sad.

Moore is handling himself well in his first year at 197. It seems to me that alot of upper weight BigTen wrestlers who have been around for 3 or 4 years have been put through a gauntlet of potential beat downs vs. other BigTen upper weights. I think it takes a couple years to adjust to the competition and develop into top notch uppers (197 & 285). For a freshman to come on the scene and beat the veteran heavies on a regular basis is not rare but it is not the norm.
Man I hope that Suriano can prevail this weekend and make it to nationals. If so he has good shot knocking off that Gilman character. Boy I would love to see that at NCAA's.
One more wish is for Jimmy Gulibon to take top honors at St. Louis in couple weeks. He will beat Ashnault this Sunday and complete the roll he has been on at the NCAA's.
One more prediction that I have is tOSU finishing second, 15 or 20 points behind Penn State, who will score 145 to 155 points.

Let's see how Moore reacts in a tournament situation, where the tendency, especially for those who haven't been there, is to wrestle conservatively: If Moore continues to make mistakes, just one mistake could cost him a match.

This coming from someone that calls other wrestling Fans haters really "one mistake could cost him a match" how long did it take you to figure that out...obviously you are a serious homer that can't take a negative comment about one of your boys..

That's a good point. Moore probably won't meet McCutcheon this weekend, unless Matt can knock off Pfarr. Maybe (hopefully) the bigger stage at NCAA's will affect Moore where he does wrestle conservatively and if that happens he very easily could get knocked off. McCutcheon and Moore were tied 6 all going into 3rd period in the dual. Matt lost 9-6 when Moore got a TD countering Matt TD attempt. Would not be surprised to see McCutcheon win rematch in different atmosphere. I's love to hear JB's call if that happens.

Question - is this an abnormal year?

Anything can happen in a tourney, but it sure does seem like there are 6-7 locks for B1G titles and another 2-3 heavy favorites.

I think 174 is the only weight where things are a true toss-up.

And although 133 & 184 are STACKED, one wrestler in each weight has separated himself as a clear favorite.

A healthy Cory Clark would turn 133 into a toss up.

I had a similar thought, though avoided saying anything. Bizarre, unexpected results are the norm at these post-season tournaments. We'll see.

I agree except Jimmy pulls off the upset.
I hope so. The way I am assessing things. Without Nick Suriano points the team championship may be more interesting. I went through things today and when I tabulated the points I had Penn State ahead of Ohio State by a point and Iowa 20 back.

How are you sure Suriano is out?

I think you've got it. I know Bo Jordan can be very tough, but his lack of activity this year leaves a lot of questions. Jimmy wrestled Ashnault pretty tough last time, but I'm not ready to pick him just yet.
