Simple question: What do you think of Spencer tossing his medal to the ground after one of the World's greatest awards it to him? No qualifications, just what do you think of it?

At face value a horrible view of sportsmanship , I wouldn’t do it , I’d advise him not to do it and I’d certainly coach him not do it . Im also not gonna hate him for it , I have zero clue what’s going thru his mind especially right before or right after a match of that importance.

His post match interview showed a complete opposite viewpoint of a medal tossing competitor he went so far as to say Nico was his hero and he can do a split now because of Nico .

Isn’t it nolf and Spencer teaming up on educational videos
Ask Carter starroci what he thinks of Mr. Fast twitch
Ask David Carr what he thinks of psu wrestling
Ask Meyer Shapiro what he thinks of Levi Haines

I get it it’s a psu message board and turning the glass breaking image into a gif that’s damn funny

But it would be nice if the fans acted a little more like the wrestlers.

For what it’s worth i wanted Marco to win . When he went up 2-0 I jumped out of my seat only to sit back down a few seconds later .

Im not wrestling savvy enough to know but it seems like Spencer might be the best option for USA in 2024 and if that happens I'm in his corner.

I was commenting on the act of tossing the medal on the ground in a vacuum. It was an act of bad sportsmanship and a look at me moment "I won gold but I'm still pissed off. That's how good I am". He may be the nicest most humble person in the world, but that was a bad look.
I'm a huge Carter Starocci fan and have been since he was in High School. When he says asinine things, I call him out on it. It is also a bad look. Maybe it his strategy for his persona post-wrestling, but it doesn't make me like it.

Maybe he heard that a girl had touched it who had cooties. That would make his action fairly rational.

Love the competitiveness. He needs to work on restraint/emotional control. Wish I could say this was a one-time lapse for him.

yep I most agree but I’ve said that already . I simply don’t know why he did it that’s were we disagree .

The rest of my response was clearly not looking at it in a vacuum and just my feelings when I read thru all the postings .

My favorite running back was Barry Sanders . Scores hands the ball to the ref . Doesn’t get better than that

I haven't seen a running back that good since.

I think it would make a good gif.

Just talking about the wrestling, not the extracurriculars...
-- Nico vs Spencer was an enjoyable watch. While my guy didn't win, Nico looked very good and was just beat by a better wrestler that day. It was close! Looking forward to the U.S. Olympic Trials Qualifier in December, where Nico will hopefully earn a spot at the Olympic Trials.!
-- While he fell short too, Mark Hall still wrestled a doozy of a tourney. Same comment can be made, he'll surely be at the U.S. Olympic Trials Qualifier in December. Good luck to him.
-- Congrats to Jason Nolf! He's now qualified for the Olympic Trials.

For those that don't know the future-looking criteria to make it to the 2024 Olympic Trials, there are still opportunities;

1) 2023 U.S. Olympic Trials Qualifier (December, 2023). Top 5 finishers per weight class.
2) 2024 Pan American Championships (February, 2024). Gold medalists only.
3) 2024 Pan American Olympic Qualifier (March, 2024). The Senior Freestyle wrestler who qualifies the Olympic weight category at the Pan American Olympic Qualifier will earn a spot at the Olympic Trials.
4) NCAA Division I Championships (March, 2024). Division 1 champions only.
5) Final 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials Qualifier (March, 2024). Champions only, athletes who have already qualified will NOT be allowed to compete in this event.

First order of business is for the United States to qualify all six weights.

Welcome back, and to clarify, we have qualified all weights except first two, right?

While I don't particularly care for it, the dude won the medal. He can do whatever he wants with it... If you don't like it, beat him for the medal. To the victor, goes the spoils or whatever old folks say.

I'm interpreting this as "if it ain't Olympic Gold, it ain't all that celebratory" ala Brands to Cejudo after winning Trials.

Would you mind correcting the spelling of the subject to "Bill Farrell"? A few years from now when someone's searching for the results it'll be easier to find if it's correct in the subject line.
Let me do that now

That is how I am interpreting the actions as well. Great match.

It's just a bad look in my book. A lot of people worked to put on a good tourney and to throw away the medal is weird.
