This site is awesome, it takes me back to being in middle school again. Eff the classiness of the cesspool.

Regardless of what Spencer did or did not do with his medal, I thought he looked good and did a great job defending 3-4 of those shots by Nico. Time will tell if he can stay healthy and make it through the Olympic trials. I liked what I saw from Sealy and Mirasola (the lighter) as well as Mark Hall battling all the way back. I was surprised when Larkin beat Mendez but it appears as though Larkin was wrestling really well yesterday. Nice tournament from him. A bit of a logjam at ASU.

I cant always tell if you guys are joking .. or referring to something from the past..
Did this really happen today?
I hate to go all "Zapruder film", but I want to back up what I said. If you have Flo, here's the full Mat 2 video:

At 7:26:08, Spencer is given a medal (or some kind of small award by Bruce Baumgardner, and he tosses it on the ground). Conversely, around 7:37 of the video, Nolf is given a medal by Kerry McCoy, He then goes and shakes hands with Marinelli's corner. Then makes a point to get McCoy's attention to get a picture with him.
Then Keith Hernandez spits on Kramer and Newman (Joking here, but the rest is true).

p.s. I don't think it's a big deal, and I don't have anything particularly against Spencer other than the ridiculous hype train he's been afforded over the years. I'll take Jason Nolf all day, every day.

I can’t imagine the pressure to win and win convincingly in every match that Spencer feels and which causes the reactions from him and those around him even when he wins by decision instead of by dominance. Hard to believe it’s enjoyable. It certainly points to a mindset difference between the two programs.

Roger McDowell spit on Kramer.

It’s sorta about being a pro. That’s all.

His fans are out in force desperately defending it as normal behavior from a champion who isn’t satisfied. Yeah, I see JB, Dake, Snyder and others whip their medals on the ground constantly.

It’s ****ing weird
Also it's a complete lack of respect for the man who gave him the award.

Take the medal home and then do with it as you will, privately.

When watching the Spencer match, I also thought the medal toss was odd and somewhat disrespectful.

He is a beast when he gets the leg lace.

Jason's post match was great, looking to shake hands with everyone including the guy who cleaned the mat. I just wish USA Wrestling required ankle bands!

Back to the Nico, Spencer match, for a couple of seconds I thought Nico was going to pin Spencer when he found that half. A little more Oomph and the touch fall was there.

You guys missed the real point of Spencer’s behavior:

“Medals are for wussies!”

Trash him all you want. He is a great wrestler and person. It would be a completely different story if he went to Penn State. And you know it.

Gilman came to state college and he became your first born son suddenly. Remember before that? I sure do

I'm trying to remember how many times Gilman ran into other teams' huddles or embarrassed himself at state-wide dinner events after moving to PSU. Maybe you can refresh our memory.

Seems as though GIlman learned how to act like a professional. Perhaps someday Lee will too.

I don't remember gilman throwing away medals. Bad look for a wrestler no matter what school you are from I don't believe for a minute that most people on this board would like medals thrown away by any psu wrestler

Gilman under the influence of TnT: Publicly belligerent toward 2 sitting head college wrestling coaches and Iowa wrestling royalty Brent Metcalf in front of a crowd of high school wrestlers and coaches. Wraps up his comments by saying to those who are fans now that he is on Team USA: “You know what I say to that, I say f*#k you. If you’re a Gilman fan you’re a Hawk fan, if you were never a fan of mine in college then stay away from me.”

Gilman under the influence of CCC: “Be humble and learn from others.”

"I kind of started over. I made a home in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. I made a new family with the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club and Penn State University with Coach Cael and company, and especially Coach Cody, have taken me under their wing and been fathers to me. So, looking at the bigger picture, wrestling is great, but I grew in this last year more than just a wrestler. I grew, I became more of a man, a better man, a better person. So, I’m just extremely grateful and I thank God that I’m here.”

Yeah Gilman suddenly, completely changed as a person when he moved to Pennsylvania. Crazy that he started to grow up more when he got out of college and started his own family.

Congrats to Spencer. Keep fighting off those haters!

Right, let those haters live in your head every match! Pretend someone is paying them! That is the way to enjoy the sport that you love! T&T are very proud of you!

You’re missing the obvious. Excess exposure to cornfields causes Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Lee was pretty well mannered until he moved to Iowa. Gilman had a serious attitude problem until he moved out of Iowa to PA. Textbook proof if you ask me! 🤔

Apologies if previously mentioned, but wasn’t Max supposed to wrestle? Anyone know why he didn’t wrestle?

Did anyone notice Nico seemed to have a different coach in his corner every match? I recall seeing Mark Perry one match, then Steiner and Roselli another match, then Steiber/jaggers?

Does he not have a coach? Wonder why he didn’t pull Varner in?

If only his Midwestern devotees didn’t build him up to be a combo of Sadulaev, Abe Lincoln, Churchill and Gandhi and have a pallet of excuses ready whenever he takes a loss, there would probably be a little less “hate” here.

Oh, and his dad being a huge (small), sanctimonious dick doesn’t help
You forgot one.

Simple question: What do you think of Spencer tossing his medal to the ground after one of the World's greatest awards it to him? No qualifications, just what do you think of it?

Maybe he's slowly realizing that Iowa no longer has just Bo as their daddy. Jason Nolf just spanked the gramps, Kemdog and Marinated, and changed their

diapers.

There appeared to be some animosity during the handshake as well, I dont even think Spencer made eye contact with him. Man I hope someone knocks him off his horse at OTT’s.

Well he won't be getting any high school kids in State College. What I'm interested to see is the crowd reactions during his bouts.
