Will either one wrestle in the future, trying out for National team or international wrestling? Thank you. psykim

you do realize that BO has wrestled freestyle his entire life as well as folk style correct?

Bo is an accomplished freestyle wrestler and was one of David Taylor's training partners as he prepared to win his World Title in 2018. I believe he traveled to the World Championships with him for training purposes up until the event if I am not mistaken.

Jason has dipped his toes into the freestyle pool and has had some success but with his style he will likely have to modify how he wrestles from how he wrestles in folkstyle. A lot of what he does in folkstyle doesn't translate to freestyle. The thing about Jason is that if he wants to be an elite freestyle guy he can be. He is that good and if he focuses on freestyle the way he does folkstyle I could see him winning a gold medal (World or Olympic). David Taylor also had growing pains transitioning from folkstyle to freestyle and look at him now. Jason Nolf is every bit the talent David Taylor is.

The only PAINS DT had were Kyle Dake and Jordan Burroughs,oh and slippery Cox. I think DT/Cox will prevent Bo from making a national team anytime soon, but Jason will immediately be in the mix for the 70kg spot.

Interesting nugget on FRL yesterday, seemed consensus: J’Den is taking it to both DT and Snyder in the proverbial room. Signs pointing to him descending for 2020.

Further channeling spyker, our guys need to hit the weights hard, and we need to buy all of the tickets at the BJC and yell to let the refs know who’s in charge, etc etc.

I heard Jason will attempt 74KG for World Championships. Makes sense since that's the Olympic Weight next year too. Guessing he might bulk up some.

Bo ... I'm not sure, this is 100% speculation but I'm guessing he'll try 92KG if he was wrestling 197 this year. He could wrestle 86KG if he wants to prepare for 2020 weight already.

Examples of the Lion Lift Job:
Taylor, Zain, Cassar

Jason getting acquainted with food sounds scary (for the food, as always).

For information-sake, here's the latest USA rankings for 70kg and 86kg;

(granted, this is early 2018, as these rankings are not updated often)

70kg/154 lbs.
1. James Green, Lincoln, Neb. (Sunkist Kids)
2. Frank Molinaro, State College, Pa. (Titan Mercury WC)
3. Jason Nolf, Yatesboro, Pa. (Nittany Lion WC)
4. Richie Lewis, Edison, N.J. (Scarlet Knights WC)
5. Kyle Ruschell, Madison, Wisc. (New York AC)
6. Jason Chamberlain, Fresno, Calif. (Titan Mercury WC/Valley RTC)
7. Hunter Stieber, Norman, Okla. (Titan Mercury WC/Oklahoma RTC)
8. Dylan Ness, Bloomington, Minn. (Minnesota Storm)
9. Chase Pami, Philadelphia, Pa. (Sunkist Kids/Pennsylvania RTC)
10. Mario Mason, Morris Plains, N.J. (Lehigh Valley WC)

86 kg/189 lbs.
1. David Taylor, State College, Pa. (Nittany Lion WC)
2. Richard Perry, Philadelphia, Pa. (New York AC/Pennsylvania RTC)
3. Bo Nickal, Allen, Texas (Nittany Lion WC)
4. Sam Brooks, Iowa City, Iowa (New York AC/Hawkeye WC)

8. Nick Reenan, Raleigh, N.C. (Titan Mercury WC/Wolfpack WC)
9. Gabe Dean, Ithaca, N.Y. (Titan Mercury WC/Finger Lakes WC)
10. Tim Dudley, Lincoln, Neb. (Nebraska Wrestling TC)

For anyone interested in 74kg, which is an Olympic weight, see below. Someone mentioned Jason moving there immediately. Not in-the-know (though may be soon :)), I suspect staying 70 gets him more international competition in the short-term, which could pay dividends as he continues his freestyle improvement.

74 kg/163 lbs.
1. Jordan Burroughs, Lincoln, Neb. (Sunkist Kids)
2. Dan Vallimont, Philadelphia, Pa. (New York AC)
3. Nazar Kulchytskyy, Madison, Wis. (Titan Mercury WC)
4. Isaiah Martinez, Lemoore, Calif. (Titan Mercury WC/Illinois RTC)
5. Thomas Gantt, Raleigh, N.C. (Titan Mercury WC/Wolfpack RTC)
6. Chance Marsteller, New Park, Pa. (Titan Mercury WC)
7. Anthony Valencia, Bellflower, Calif. (Sunkist Kids)
8. Vincenzo Joseph, Pittsburgh, Pa. (Nittany Lion WC)

10. Evan Wick, San Gabriel, Calif. (Titan Mercury WC)

That won't sit well with HR ....

I would expect J'Den at +20 lbs to be taking it to DT; whether he can do that down 20 lbs is doubtful.
was your post serious (I'm just not sure)?

Don't know J'den other than his seemingly genuine persona from interviews, social media and the like. Appears to be a really cool human being.

Nerfstate was just reporting what the FRL guys were saying. Also, the difference between 86kg and 92kg is 13 lbs, not 20. But even so, DT is walking around heavier than 86kg. I don't know what Cox is walking around at, but I doubt they're 20 lbs apart in that room.

And Snyder? The point is, J’den’s trajectory has been up and up pretty much every year since he started at Mizzou. DT has also improved, but is 1-2 against him so far at 86 when it counts. OTT is gonna be nuts and multiple world champs in their prime are going to wind up riding pine.

Idiots who run the Olympics should get rid of badminton or tiddily-winks,
And have 8 or all 10 weights at men’s freestyle.

The other nugget from FRL was that Bo is looking at 97Kg for 2020. If he goes full Cassar in terms of gym reps, he has the frame for it. Who wouldn’t want to see him face Snyder?

Get rid of the big money millionaire team sports. Pro basketball and baseball should have their own World Cup if there is truly interest

the problem with removing those sports is that those are the ones that people most want to see. if you remove them, cable companies would bid less for olympic television rights. if there's one thing we know about the IOC, it's that they love money.

Especially when it lines their own pockets.

The bigger the TV contract, the easier to hide the (cough cough) discretionary funds.

And as long as they've been in that racket, they're not about to start paying their own way for anything.
