This book The Warner Boys is primarily about Curt's children who have autism. However, he does discuss his college recruitment-initiated by his high school teacher in those days and how he respected
Joe Paterno! To me Curt was as good as any RB ever at PSU and a 2 time All American. He was a high draft pick by Seattle and after a great rookie season he had an ACL injury which in
those days recovery was very iffy-fortunately through 6-8 hour training days over many months he was able to play and eventually became a second and then first team All Pro ball RB. However, by
his late twenties he was left unprotected and the Rams picked him up. His Rams career did not last long and by his late 20s "you know it's over because the phone stopped ringing!" He talked about
how the violence of the NFL careers ended his career in his late 20s and we know Rbs unfortunately do not have long careers. Fortunately, he met a supportive wife and transitioned into a career
in the car business. Sure is a different type of life with one's career over by late 20s and one has to transition to a whole new career. Some have the persistence/dedication/worth ethic to make it but many do not. Thus, education and developing good work habits is so important in college especially as most players sure are not at Curt's talent level. Chapter in his book on NFL running backs career would be
good for a lot of high school kids to read!
