Who do you like in the bowl season?

I'm on the under today in Utah state and Arizona state games. looking at mtsu on the money line tonight or+7 if it pops again.

I went under on the Vegas Bowl and GA Southern -3 this evening. Usually, the under in the early bowl games is a death knell.

Torn on vandy. I think they are the better team but baylor could have a motivation edge. I do like miss st. moorhead knows them well and their stud TE is out.

Somewhat related.. anyone make it out to the Hollywood Casino sportsbook in Grantville? I've been out there a few times.. I see Rivers in Pittsburgh opened up this weekend. Any reviews would be appreciated. Hollywood is set up pretty well. Staff is well trained. Lots of tvs. They try to get the games on the tvs that were bet on even if the game is obscure. No betting on college games taking place in New Jersey or involving New Jersey college teams because their server is based in Jersey.. line was pretty long last week for the NFL but it moved fast. Crowd is increasing every week. Will be out there for NFL tomorrow. Last weekend's games provided a wide range of reactions.. was a lot of fun.

I have a few games I'm looking at for bowl season. Thoughts?

Memphis- Wake Forest Over 74
Army -3.5
Boise State -2.5
Wisconsin ML
Penn State -6.5

I love the money line with Wisky. A likely cold-weather game can't be too motivating for a schizo Miami team plus Taylor is playing close to home. Not sure how I feel about Boise being a favorite because BC's running game is pretty good and Boise had issues stopping Fresno's ground attack.

Henderson is sitting out for Memphis. Makes the over a risky play.
I haven't looked into bsu vs bc in detail but BC fits a system I've used in the past which is to play on teams that were upset in their final two games.

Hope you bet army already because that line went up to 5.

I've already bet Miami pretty big. the colder temp gave me some pause, but that is more than canceled by two things. Revenge from last year. Miami defense is one of the top teams in creating havoc and whiskey OL one of worst at defending it. just my two cents.

I will say though, if you like a dog in a bowl, the money line is usually a good way to go. dogs win su more often in bowl games when they cover.

And when in doubt, fade the public in bowls. look for teams getting less than 40 Pct of the bets.

Miami being one of them. Add NC State, Minnesota, Kentucky, Texas, Washington, and Houston.
I've got my eye on texas and uw. I recall a similar situation with minny 2 years ago when they had numerous players suspended and everyone was on wash st. Minny won soundly. not sure I can go against ga tech with the Paul j factor though.

Edit. One caveat. The public tends to bet games closer to kick, so early bet counts may not be entirely reliable.

Since this thread is dedicated to degenerate gamblers, can we go a bit off topic and talk about the ending of the PSU/Duquesne hoops game last night?

yeah, I saw that SIX technical free throws were converted near game end, and was the line really 5 points?

5.5 - 6

All of the fouls occurred with 5 seconds left in a tie game. The crazy thing, PSU has been terrible from the stripe and I think they were 10 for 20 from the line before sinking all 6 shots. Had I played, I would have been on Duquesne +5.5. Would have ranked among my all-time bad beats.

Losing the +5 or +6 in a tie game with 10 seconds left isn’t that much of an outlier, due to ~20% chance of losing it in OT. It was really “how” it went down (and it happening in regulation).

Couple lines..... curious wrt GG thoughts:

OSU -6 1/2

Oregon -2

Iowa +7
Sorry man. I'm already on MSU at 3, looking to bet UW at 7, and leaning towards miss st.

Moorhead knows Iowa from seeing them twice. iowa without their starting TE who is a big part of the offense. I don't see them scoring much and I think a running QB can hurt them.

There are a few systems that sparty fits that I like to bet. The public is betting oregon. nobody wants any part of a team like sparty. Yet the line has moved in their favor.
