The same is true of Cassioppi. I am a big PSU homer but I am not going to lie and distort reality. To do so basically invalidates any opinion you state. Nobody hates Bonus Points........just silly to think it let alone put it in print. Peace

I'd be damn proud if our guys finished 2nd this year. 6 freshman, 1 sophomore. Half of them have been dinged up for one reason or another in the weirdest year ever. I don't take that for granted. You say finishing 2nd like it's an insult. May I remind you that you guys finished 2nd once in the entire 2011 - 2019 span? And you know what, I don't actually say that as an insult either, just pointing out great programs don't always win. Also, we actually have to go out and perform next weekend to get 2nd even. Quite a few teams vying for that spot!

I've posted on HR one time, to post my condolences to MinnHawkeye's thread. That's it. Don't plan to post again. I'm sure there are plenty of great people on that board. I bet some of their "obnoxious" posters are pretty chill in real life and I'd get a beer with them even. But when we're all posting behind anonymous screen names without having to attach our name, occupation and city to what we say ... best to stick to people of common rooting interests. Will lead to a lot less unpleasantries.

I do appreciate the ones who cross over (Nashville, js something, Turk and occasionally yes, you also jmadden) As shown by our postings on MinnHawkeye's passing thread, we all miss him dearly.

I have never seen someone deny Iowa won a ton of titles starting in the mid 70s through the end of the century. Oklahoma State won a ton in the previous century also. Actually, more.

Maybe with 6 freshman and another year under our belts we will be firing on all cylinders once again relative to bonus, but Iowa's current crew led by Spencer are a bit of a different breed than the past decade or more.

During Brooks match with Nelson Brands you can hear one of the coaches (I think Terry) screaming after the second injury time (where Nelson was awarded one point to go up 7-5). “At Penn State even versus a Penn Stater”. He was basically taunting essentially saying look at the score board, we are beating you in your own house. I am sure Brooks heard it. After he tossed Brands on his back, you can see Brooks look over to Iowa’s corner and nod. I think his nod was saying .....look at the score now Tattoo!

My friend, I think it's entertainment. I don't know whether it helps or not, but it sure makes some of the otherwise boring matches a lot more entertaining. For instance, during the Cass/Kerk match Tom kept yelling Cass' name, but I don't think it affected Cass one bit and Cass certainly never reacted to it as Tom was begging for a cut and another TD, but Cass would have none of it. I'm all about the kids/men wrestling the matches, but I'm also ok with some free entertainment if/when the matches are a little light on action. Just being honest.

as far as recruiting goes their segment is getting smaller and smaller. Only so many kids and parents going to enjoy that.

I also think there is an inevitable woody or bobby knight moment that ends their careers.

I don't see a Woody or Bobby moment, but I could easily envision some pressure from the University or B10 to control some of the chatter especially when profanity is mixed in. But I don't see a Woody moment where T or T punch or tackle another team's wrestler, or a Bobby moment where they go overboard with one of their own or start throwing chairs on the mat.

That's what I was referring to in my other post. I do think the University or B10s will come down on TnT eventually when it gets out of hand like that. I do not think it's OK to call someone a dirty, cheating bastard, which I believe the quote was, in that environment. I think that's overboard.

That is a fact. Iowa hasn't won in 10 years. And I attribute that to the outstanding performances by the coaches who coach and the wrestlers who shined on the biggest stage. Fortunately for us fans, you weren't either of those. So I guess that relegates you to be the poor sap left to talk trash about the guys who bust their asses to get to the biggest stage.
