Burroughs & PSU

Wow.... that was tough to hear in retrospect. Only a 3 time World Champ and Olympic Champion to further your cause in recruiting. Double WOW.

Lol...I heard that. Old Bubba Jenkins sure let us down by not vouching for him.

No evidence that happened. Maybe Bubba told Troy and Troy said no. Or maybe all of their $$$ were spent. We will never know but putting it on Bubba isn't fair.

Context is everything. I would hope flo would get something from bubba on this.

Reserving comment until then.

The video mines a very interesting nugget of wresting history. If wrestling gem Jordan Burroghs had his way, he'd have chosen to shine in Penn State Blue and White.

Too bad it didn't work out and he wasn't able to wrestle at Penn State. Beyond his enormous talent and work ethic, Jordan Burroghs is a wonderful ambassador for US wrestling.

Much ado about nothing. Burroughs was in the same class as Bubba and the class right before Molinaro (who as a soph beat junior Burroughs in the NJ state finals) and right around the same weight and he was not as big of a recruit as either of them at the time.
But just to clarify while I see that dilemma Burroughs wasn't looked at as a big recruit until senior nationals and I believe (anyone correct me if I'm wrong) Nebraska was the only school interested in him at the time

No garantee Jordan reaches the same level of success had he attended any other university.

Have to agree. Really Burroughs got beat bad by Metcalf. This is a funny or weird sport Metcalf beat Burroughs, Jenkins, and Frank the tank and now Burroughs and Frank are in the olympics and Brent is home.

This is why I never ever look into the rear view mirror. I trust the plan (as shitty as it seems at times) that I feel God laid out for me and accept the way things fall after using my own free will. Things could have turned out incredibly worse for Jordan. We will never know. I hate I've never hit the big bucks in the lottery but for all I know, maybe I spend a bunch on "gaggers" and my heart bursts. I doubt it but that kinda thinking works for me...

Nothing wrong with "keeping it real" bro...

Mark Hall trained a lot with Burroughs and when he made his commitment I think I recall him saying he was one of his best friends. Makes me wonder if Jordan played any part in Hall maybe taking a closer look at PSU. I mean really, Jordan freaking Burroughs wanted to come to Happy Valley and here you have Mark Hall being courted by the school that didn't show much interest in his idol. I'm not saying Burroughs recruited him for us but he could have possibly said some things that helped get Mark here.
