Can you imagine three putting the 18th to lose the US Open?

I know golf is a difficult game and DJ played great golf, including on the 18th. It's just that he had the open in his grasp, or at least a playoff...

You never know. Two great shots, a putt to win outright, two putts to get in the playoff.

You want to be a champion, you want to be immortal, you knock that down from four feet. You just have to.

Can ask Stewart Cink and Retief Goosen that question. 2001 US Open at Southern Hills, Cink 3-jacked on the final green just trying to get out of the way and that cost him a spot in the playoff when Goosen yakked one from about same distance as DJ's. Goosen at least was able to redeem himself in the next day's playoff.

I picked DJ to win and Spieth to come in second. He kept leaving his putts short all day. I'm glad he gave it a run to win it. Can't believe he missed the putt to tie.

Yup. No excuse and now you have nightmares the rest of your life. It's why I always root for the kid to make that field goal with no time left (except against PSU). The wins all blend together but the losses last forever.
