I was highly impressed by both Thomsen and Steiert - both of which are headed to Doug Schwab at UNI. Really thought Kemerer would win for the third straight time, but Kemerer has had a brutal month, two tough guys at state, Dapper Dan, AGON, and then traveled back to Iowa for this. I am not trying to take anything away from Thomsen, but maybe Kemerer is feeling a bit run down after wrestling non-stop since he won his state title.

Steiert over Shields was a nice surprise, but anyone who watched him at Fargo isn't that surprised. He's really talented.

As for Joseph, that match was never going to be close. I feel bad saying it since I actually know Straw, but he's not even ranked in the top 20 (he's probably in that 30 range) at his weight.
