I've commented before about this but the Brick challenge needs to be fine tuned .
First and foremost, if it's thrown and the call not changed, opposition wrestler gets choice .
If injury time dictates that, so should a challenge.
If brick is thrown , first 30 seconds discussion with 2nd ref. If they deemed video need to validate, 90 seconds to review once refs in place to watch. If tournament has 3rd party video, 60 seconds after refs agree with the need to discuss with 3rd party. The off Mat official has already had a minute to watch. If they can't determine in 90 seconds call stands.
NOT SURE IF I'M CORRECT BUT I THOUGHT ON TV THEY SAID THAT NEBRASKA WAS OUT OF CHALLENGES WHEN A NEW NATCH STARTED???.
The tournament has to allow the better teams and more wrestlers advancing a weighted challenge allotment for each round.
Suggestion on allotment. 1 brick for First entry and a half brick for each remaining participant.
Round up on the half( just like taxes).
The current challenge allotment tends to screw the upper weights.
No more than 2 challenges in match even if you were correct.

Better rule:
1. Nebraska and Iowa not permitted to challenge anything, period.

Would anyone else here be for getting rid of replay altogether like I am? First off, they have two refs, let them consult quickly and make the call. Second of all, it's usually not getting reversed. And lastly (the most important reason in my mind, PSU is usually the most well conditioned athlete. I can't stand watching opposing kids... who look like they are gassing soon, get a 5 minute break. Sometimes I think even if the call goes against our guy, it would have just been better to let our guy lose the points and let him keep breaking his opponent.

Yep, get rid of it. Or if not, at least get the 3rd ref in there doing it with a 90-second time limit.

Yeah I agree - replay doesn't fit with wrestling. In a sport like football where you have only short bursts of action followed by periods of inactivity, the replay doesn't affect the outcome of the game. In wrestling, the goal is to keep the action as continuous as possible. The edge of the mat rules have been modified to accomodate this goal. Action continues until both wrestlers have no body parts within the big circle. A long review can completely change the momentum of a match and we've even seen coaches use the brick to buy time for their wrestler until the rules were changed to limit the number of challenges. Let the refs figure out a way to do it without replay.

Challenge in last minute of a match, opposing wrestler gets either choice of position or a point ... their preference. This would eliminate what I refer to as an... "I still have a brick, so why not throw it" challenge?
