Clarion Open - Nov 6th

Have you seen their home gym? It’s a decent attendance for a Tuesday night PIAA dual meet in central pa.

Cornell can develop great wrestlers, but it’s like comparing Alabama/SEC to Houston/American Conf in football. Do I need to quote Bo Nickal right now?

After PSU and Iowa….attendance wise, who else really anything other than the PIAA matches you reference? No many. Tough to diss on a school that has its own dedicated wrestling facility that is in fact quite nice. And in a city of 35k people in rural NY.
Contrast with the population centers of all Big Ten Schools and Lehigh/Penn.

I’d say they overachieve. And are second in NCAA individual champions since Cael arrived in State College.

I get it. It’s fun to poke and I’ve done the same. But they have hard earned respect for that they have achieved….which is so much more than others have done.

Cornell gave us Max Dean (and soon Shapiro) and for that I am forever grateful.

Yeah, that kid who is spending his senior year in Ithaca, training with Yianni, is going to switch to Penn State. Any day now.
Hey, how about those shiny new KD kicks from Spartan? Wasn’t enough to stop to forces of gravity then, what’s different here? :p

I'm not the one making the extraordinary claim, so I'm not the one who needs extraordinary evidence. I will say that Shapiro chose to take his senior year in HS at Spartan, where he gets to train for years with the best guy in the country (Yianni) in both folk and freestyle at his own weight.

Some might object to your last sentence unless lawyers get involved, LOL!!

Gibson was I thought. Not sure where he was?

Bassett at 114-120 would be too small, I don’t care how good he is. He is still a boy and those guys are men.

At least you didn't compare Cornell to a Big Ten West football team.

My extraordinary evidence lies in the video you see below of an unknown wrestler leaving the Cornell castle and into a pipeline of sorts. Authorities are working on the outlet location of the secret pipeline but Dean, Dake and Gibson all followed a similar path and seemed to show up in State College near the hole #9 of the White Course.

Forest made a lot of college kids look bad yesterday. It could be a turning point for them. I would have to say most of them got up today with more fire than ever and maybe losing to a 9th grader will spark something they needed. Always look on the bright side.
The kid from Garner Webb was 25
