Cool news from Buckeyeland - wrestle offs

Jordan vs Romero..

neither of these 2 show me much. Jordan bigger, Romero presses action but has nothing but a double. Jordan hasn’t taken a shot yet. He’s definitely not Bo or Micah offensively

1-1 after 2. Jordan already has a stall point against him. He doing nothing

going to overtime. Snooze fest. At least Romero shoots.

going into double OT. Romero has about 20 shots to 0.

and Jordan win as he rides out Romero and Romero can’t hold him down.

Boring as hell..I’m out can’t watch more of this boring crap

Makes me really appreciate what we have going on

I don't remember Bo ever taking a shot on Mark until it was desperation time.

Oh my god did anyone stay awake? Those were some very boring matches!

He went something like 25-3 last year at 184. This is probably just one of those goofy room losses that happen occasionally in wrestle-offs..

A few years ago Kenny Courts lost his wrestle-off to some dude who was never heard from again.

Logan Stieber lost a wrestle-off to somebody the same year he lost to Zain and went out and did some pretty special stuff. Singletary lost last year's wrestle-off and that turn out to be a fluke as well. Gavin will be just fine. Ohio State will be good....again. I would say they are the favorite to finish a much closer 3rd than folks realize.

I can understand room familiarity may play a part in some of these boring matches ..but still.

While I somewhat agree...…..I still remember Berge 3.....Verk 2. No heart palpitations there either. I think they are both pretty good though.....just sayin' :)

you have a much more positive outlook then I do. If that was PSU and they wrestled like that, I’d have a sick pit in my stomach and I can’t even imagine what Lemon Pie would do!

You sure about this? I don't recall this happening, maybe you're thinking of a hurt Hunter Stieber?
The announcers of the Wrestle-offs tonight mentioned it during the broadcast on FLO. They definitely said Logan lost a wrestle-off......mentioned the name of the guy he lost to.....a name I forgot almost immediately....sorry. They mentioned that Logan went on to be something like 40-1 and won the NC that year. Don't think Hunter ever won a NC :)

3rd will be much closer to second than second will be to first.

Would you mind posting the scores from the last couple of PSU wrestle offs? Can’t seem to remember.

We don’t have public wrestle offs thankfully.

I like the way we do it, everyone has their hopes up real high coming into the season, Flo does 50 articles of how so and so team can beat PSU, then PSU takes the mat for first dual and fans of other teams put their head in their hands and realizes “welp, maybe next year”

Watched every match. Had the time, and now that wrestling season is here, I wanted that first early dose.

I would hesitate judging one bit about any of the action. Familiarity is huge.

I did not watch the entire wrestle-off, but I did hear the announcers mention, at one point during the broadcast, that Ian Paddock beat Hunter Stieber in a wrestle off and Hunter went on to have only 1 loss during the season. (BTW this happened in 2013 where Hunter was 36-1 and finished 3rd at NCAA). I did not hear any mention of Logan losing a wrestle-off, but they may have said it. I watched only about 75% of the broadcast.

As if last night were anything other than a dog and pony show.

Ohio State's first competition is the MSU Open. Does anyone seriously think last night's 157 and 184 winners will be the starters after that tourney?

I could very well have mis-heard.....my concentration was in direct proportion to the excitement on the mat :)

I don't. Not that 2019-20 is a toss away year for the Buckeyes, as they have, imo, much more potential than the ranker's are showing. While injuries (hate to say it) are a great neutralizer, jumping the firepower of PSU and Iowa this year is not likely. They're young, so anything is possible ... it's just where I see them, as better off in the long run RS'ing their 157 and 184 pounder.
