It's a mule deer, somewhere out west. Strange whatever is in that water turned it's hair a light color. 99% of hunters would save that deer if not in hunting season, which it appears not to be by vegetation and it has velvet rack.

Yeah, looked like a young mule deer. Looked like late spring or early summer so not hunting season.

And having been in that stagnant water, it wouldn’t be wise to eat it. Who knows how much of that water it ingested and what disease or poisons it was exposed to? So even in hunting season it’s best to let it go. And hunter’s ethics wouldn’t allow shooting a helpless animal like that. Violates the fair chase ethics.
