Always thought he was a little goofy but man he is so much more personable than those stiffs. Very nice post game interview with van pelt.
I'm glad he won and beat satan. I mean saban.

He can be goofy, but definitely doesn't come off as pompous as some. He's just getting ready to switch sidelines when Nick retires.

I can't stand Dabo.

I realize that religion is common in sports, but they are really over the top there.

Over the top? Really? I hope you based your opinion on more than that one article. In a related article, for example, I found this:
Swinney cited former wide receiver Aaron Kelly, a Jehovah’s Witness, as an example of his program’s policy in action.
“We couldn’t have more opposite faiths,” said Swinney of Kelly. “But yet I coached him for five years, and I love Aaron Kelly and Aaron Kelly loves me and his family loves me. I never had a problem, ever, in coaching him.
“He was never a guy that went to church with us. He didn’t pray with the team if the team ever prayed together, and it was never a problem. He became the all-time leading receiver at Clemson and the ACC. It’s not about who the best Christian is, it’s about who the best player is. It always has been and it always will be.”
Work for NASA? An economic Think Tank maybe? Boeing? Arthur Andersen?Sure you'd do something else Dabo - sure you would. Prick.
I think so. Dabo like all coaches, is about winning. If he wins he keeps his job and he also has a high profile platform to showcase his beliefs. I consider myself a religious person, but I am not an "in your face" type believer, and I am not suggesting he is. I really don't know, based upon what little I've read in the past 10 minutes. I will say I've never paid much attention to Clemson, or Swinney, before, but I will follow them both a little more closely now and see how this all plays out.Actually, that statement from Dabo seems a little condescending towards the Kelly kid,
What if Dabo sees a great player who is Jewish, Hindu, Muslim, Agnostic, or whatever the hell Felli believes? Same comments?
That group is just as bad as the Baptist church group.
Yawn. You post an article about the same wacko group that files lawsuits against cash-strapped rural counties over 10 Commandment murals that have been on a wall for 100 years? I submit that elitist atheists are far more obnoxious and "evangelical" than the most strident 21st century Christian. These jerks are offended by the sight of a cross - much like Dracula.
Dabo's style reminds me of Franklin's - seems to actually be having a good time. Saban and Meyer seem suicidal when they lose - slightly less miserable when they win.
Paul Chryst is the absolute worst. It's like watching a train wreck when he is interviewed.
A very boring train wreck
I don't like when he goes super religious either. Just an observation about his personality in interviews.I can't stand Dabo.

He's a clown. Gets paid $5mm a year and has this to say about 'college' athletics...
We try to teach our guys, use football to create the opportunities. Take advantage of the platform and the brand and the marketing you have available to you. But as far as paying players, professionalizing college athletics, that's where you lose me. I'll go do something else, because there's enough entitlement in this world as it is.
Sure you'd do something else Dabo - sure you would. Prick.
He tried watching Notre Dame but got tired of watching them lose.God doesn't watch football. He knows who's gonna win anyway.
Wow. Thanks for pissing all over my thread buddy.
That was my only point. In that moment in time, it was just nice to hear a coach be personable, open, and not condescending and miserable. I'm sure there are plenty of things that Dabo says that I wouldn't agree with, but I wasn't thinking about that in that very moment.Sorry - I got your point; anyone is better than Saban. But, Swinney is a real turd and I thought you should know.
