DeSanto

Won't be on the medal stand, due to a statement to a NCAA Official who was directing him to be interviewed after his consolation final match.

From Tom Brands:

“Austin DeSanto will not participate in the NCAA Parade of All-Americans or medal stand ceremony Saturday night. DeSanto behaved inappropriately toward NCAA media officials while exiting the mat this afternoon and after consulting with the NCAA Wrestling Committee and our administration, we have made an institutional decision to withhold him from tonight’s activities.”

Austin DeSanto

“My behavior toward the NCAA media officials prior to the post-match interview was wrong and I owe all those involved a sincere apology. My language and behavior was inappropriate and inexcusable. I have spoken with Tom and I understand and agree with the decision.”

On his way to the media room, the NCAA media official was directing him where to go to answer post match questions and he supposedly told her that if she ever told him what to do again, he’d kill her.
Yikes.

Really? No mods go delete or at least edit the title of this thread? Y’all like to act like you take the high road always over here but this place is just as bad as HR. Two fan bases that are absolutely made for each other lol.

If true, a penalty more substantial than not participating in the awards ceremony should be in order. If I am the coach, I would seriously consider telling him time to move on.

Dude, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. HR is a joke, and that's putting it mildly. From accusations of roids to cheating, it's ridiculous. Everyone stalls and cheats but Iowa. The most miserable bunch of fans I've ever seen. Win a championship and cry like babies. We are having a hell of a good time here, and having a ton of FUN FUN FUN.

I agree and someone was on this board saying there are iowa posters on hr who put the nuts in their place when they get out of hand. They must all be on the plane to aruba with Ryan because nobody questioned shit over there

I don't want to entertain Tin Foil Hat conspiracies (actually, I do), but what Johnstown said in the other thread holds some water . . .

. . . ween him off his meds to make him wrestle more aggressively, right in time for the Big Dance ?? . . .

We'll probably never know.

Go ahead and @ me.

I actually suggested that Desanto would be better off (very short term) wrestling with a bit less, uh, control on another board.

This is not what I had in mind.

Please. Iowa finishes second this year without DeSanto. While PSU will win next year by 20 or more points Iowa believes they are going to repeat, but even they aren't silly enough to believe they can repeat without DeSanto. As long as DeSanto is simply embarrassing they will be willing to tolerate his antics.

That’s even worse than what I first heard... that he told Brands, “I’ll wash it, but I ain’t waxin it.”

Huh? No clue what you’re even talking about. Like I said y’all aren’t any different. It’s hard to except I know.

But I do give credit to whoever changed the name of this topic. Good on you.

Dude, I usually appreciate your posts being non-partisan between Iowa and Penn State, but you need some Snickers tonight.
