DeSanto

Huh? No clue what you’re even talking about. Like I said y’all aren’t any different. It’s hard to except I know.

But I do give credit to whoever changed the name of this topic. Good on you.
Thought you said you were an Ohio State fan. If not, tell me who your team is and I’ll post a more relatable reply.
If you are an Ohio State fan after all, you cry more than Shaun Wade’s dad

It’s bad enough if DeSanto threatened to kill someone. But you kill our language almost every time you post with your “would of” and your “hard to except”. Is it supposed to be funny to uglify our heritage?

I doubt this disciplinary action came down from the Brands. It's more likely the NCAA and school administration brought down the hammer.

Boorish behavior is endemic to the program, all the way from the coaches to their own blood. I commend Kemerer and the few others who have managed to take the high road.

Most of the Iowa wrestlers and fans seem like pretty good people. I think it's the exceptions that stand out so strongly that they leave a biased impression of everyone.

Regarding DeSanto, I wonder if the person that he allegedly threatened tried to push or pull him towards the post match area. I'm not trying to make excuses here, but sometimes just touching a person at the wrong time can bring about an over-reaction.

No matter what the circumstances, a guy with some history made a verbal threat. I am not sure even this level of consequences is what is needed. IMHO there is a need for serious intervention from professionals that the Iowa Athletic Department cannot provide.

One of the HR posts had a video link that included the supposed "incident." The ESPN handlers clearly did NOT touch ADS; they were talking to him, he responds and you can pretty clearly see the look on the ESPN persons face like "WTF?"
PS - going to HR is actually entertaining. PSU only won because all 4 champs stalled at all the right times. Carl is a cheating scumbag. PSU wrestlers are all juiced. Didn't see one tip of the cap to any PSU champions for being a champ or good wrestling. They thought they'd win by 50+ and set the all-time scoring record then BAM, a reality punch in face last night by Penn State.

My guess is he was probably quietly removed from the arena, as someone who had just made this type of threat should have been.

How would Cael deal with him? When does the headache become too much?
I thought I read when Teasdale was not performing in and out of the wrestling room as he should be,, Cael had a sit-down with him. Soon after that he leaves PS. That's how things should be handled, Desanto gets away with things again and agai ,with an apology or suspension mixed in along the way. He gets away within it because he has had some wrestling success and Iowa doesn't want to lose him. And now he threatens an official for no reason Somewhere principles of behavior need to be enforced. In any company a person with a history like this would be let go. Time for Iowa or the NCAA ro take some real action against this kid. DeSanto does not represent Iowa well. Iowa a lot of good kids , but DeSanto does not represent the sport or the college well.

DeSanto is a representative of the University of Iowa.

If I had an employee who threatened an event employee, that employee would be severely reprimanded or fired. There is supposed to be a code of conduct.

Details are cloudy, but this issue should land on the Univ. of Iowa's AD's desk - not just Tom & Terry's little locker room huddle.

I also don't understand Brands. You know he is a loose cannon. So why in the world would you get in his face after a match and start screaming? Like lean in a say what needs said why bring more emotion into it.

I am going to guess there was probably zero physical contact.

This is a fact. There was no physical interaction. Whether he actually said the words, "I'll kill you" is up for debate. Until that is confirmed, we have to give him the slightest benefit of the doubt before casting judgement on this incident. The only one that used those words has been Pat Mineo. And we all know what that's worth.

Because at the end of the day, the Brands’ are much more like DeSanto then they are SLee, Kemerer or Marinelli. The are loose cannons that act impulsively and aggressively. Their antics are not much different than DeSanto’s. They are just older and can control it marginally better. Lee, Kemerer and MarinellI are classy and good representatives of outer sport. The other guys, not so much.

This speaks more to Terry than Tom. Tom is edgy, but actually pretty well controlled most of the time. Terry is a complete nut job and it is out of control enough to tarnish both twins.

Did you see the posts speculating PSU blood doping? I kid you not.

They finally win a team title and are f...king miserable and butt-hurt!

I just love our guys...every darn one of them!

Yeah Cael broke the code on beating drug testing and PSU is doping to increase stamina in matches.. looney tunes over on HR.

I have no idea for a fact what AD said

I choose not to participate in the cancel culture

Brands will deal with the situation appropriately, and I suspect the assumed offense and penalties are both overblown.

Or on the DAs desk as they decide if criminal charges are warranted.

Threatening an ncaa representative to kill her is not overblown. DeSanto should be kicked off the team.

I thought to myself that DeSanto must be off his meds in his first televised bout. He continued trying to take down his opponent after he pushed him onto an adjacent mat. Walking back to his mat, he forcefully shoved his opponent again.

...no one should be surprised, it was just DeSanto being DeSanto...
...Iowa knew exactly what they were getting when he came over from Drexel but they ignored the obvious and it has come back to bite them...
Bite them? How? It isn't like there is any university or program embarrassment. They had a bunch of kids hanging out at 4 in the morning when one accidently shot another and then the kid who was shot lied to the police. Anybody have to pay a price for that, other surgeryand rehab? Nope. A slight verbal threat from a known hothead who just contributed 19.5 points to an eventual 16 point victory, man it's all good. Honest.

I don't want to entertain Tin Foil Hat conspiracies (actually, I do), but what Johnstown said in the other thread holds some water . . .

. . . ween him off his meds to make him wrestle more aggressively, right in time for the Big Dance ?? . . .

We'll probably never know.

Go ahead and @ me.
I'll be honest, I kinda felt bad speculating like that and should have just kept that to myself. But don't get me wrong, I feel that something to that affect did indeed happen and would wager on it. Austin was a completely different person this past weekend than he had been all year. Lastly, I like Austin alot.. if that did happen and someone other than himself encouraged or perpetuated it, they should be locked up.

On his way to the media room, the NCAA media official was directing him where to go to answer post match questions and he supposedly told her that if she ever told him what to do again, he’d kill her.

There is something seriously wrong with that kid!! Is he autistic? Does he have Tourette's Syndrome he seems to have these uncontrollable ticks in his eye and face? I rememeber two years ago he was costing them team points in every match for going after people after the whistle and pushing people after he won. True Hawkeye D-Bag in the Nelson Brands, Max Murin mold. I thought spencer Lee sounded like a real D-Bag in his interview after winning the NC. Who was coolest and most level headed in their post match interview? No other than Bergen Catholic's Shane Griffith!! So well spoken and articulate.

I have a feeling and it may be just me but I think AJ Ferrari may be in love with himself??? I think he has multiple mirrors around his house where he just looks at himself all day and flexes and tells himself how great he is! That being said. He is going to be a train wreck of fun to watch over the next couple of years!! He already is my favorite non-PSU wrestler!

There has to be a mod. He told them to quit being thin skinned pussies. Of course they threatened to hang him, but he tried.
Lol. Yeah... they got all over him about that.

His answer to all that? He banned me within days. Lol. That's why I now refer to him as Mike "No balls" Zeirath. He caved instead of being a man and finish what he started. He he has no balls...

Which contradicts the statement in the post above about most iowa fans being good people. They must not be on hr then because those homers are off the hook with some of the nastiest bullshit. And delusional holy shit they live in some alternative universe with nobody to say hey dipshit your wrong. If I said a fraction of what they say over there twenty people in this board who would scold me and rightly so. I'm talking from experience lol. I read that Tom wouldn't let desanto in the arena because he could have been disqualified from the tournament and lost his points not sure how true that is it was said on hr lmfao
