Did Bo justify his #14 ranking today???

I can't wait to actually see that match..sounds like not only did bo win but was in control the entire match....NICE:)

To answer Dunke... I told Chief before the season that Bo Nickal was under rated... And Bo proved that today... easily handling Zach Epperly. Epperly nearly made the mistake of going upper body with Bo and Bo almost made him pay. The look on Coach Dresser's face said it all.

Same thing with Jason Nolf easily handling Brascetta... 4-1 with 2:03 in riding time.

Thought Bo looked great. Awesome performance against an outstanding wrestler. Bo much stronger than he looks, as we have been hearing. He was obviously a very decorated HS wrestler coming in - but you can see he has been training with some of the best wrestlers in the country. Looks comfortable on a big stage. Key match today keep ping PSU in the drivers seat.

To your point:
  • Bo wrestled Brown last year, so he is not going to wrestle anyone stronger this year
  • Bo lost to Brown as a true freshmen by the score of 10-7 early last year. Those 7 points were the most scored on Brown all of last year
  • When you consider that the greatest improvement is generally from true Freshmen to Redshirt Freshmen, you have to seriously consider BO as a serious challenger for the crown. So the win didn't surprise me at all.

Tom - name me one good win for Nickal. I dare you!

Oops.

As the 4-3 double OT loss to Andy McCulley last year fades into the distance

Sorry Jamz, you had to know it was coming :)

No Hall, [edit 0-2] 0-3 today in duals...BIG plate of crow. Dont worry buddy only way to go is up.

He did, now. But previously his #14 was a prediction, not a ranking based upon his body of work (or lack thereof).

As I wrote on the G board, it is not just winning or losing that matters, but the product that you are putting out on the mat. I'm very unhappy with the lack of match preparation I saw. Coaches and wrestlers share the blame.
