Does anyone know what prompted Sickels 1st half suspension? nfm

I think Fowler mentioned he missed some classes during the bye week.
I just watched the 2nd half again and that is what Fowler said during the 4th quarter. At that point he was gushing that Sickels had 8 tackles, 3.5 TFL and 2 sacks in less than a half. I read an article where it stated he was suspended for "undisclosed reasons."

So it's bullshit. fowler is wrong, and 'ro has the real story? And where, pray tell, did fowler get his misinformation, seeing as he obviously has no connections?

Answers:
1) Yes. Source: Anna Chapman?
2) Davey Jones?

Whatever. I'm going with fowler because there is no other actual information out there. The rest is "I know something you don't know" interweby bullshit.

It was not due to missed classes.

BTW, here is what Coach Franklin said on the matter:

“Garrett’s been a model citizen for us for three years. We just had a situation where we had a bye week and some guys wanted to get home early for the long weekend. He ended up not going to a class,” Franklin said.

“I’ve been in a lot of places where you put the right guys on the field regardless, so there’s nothing better when you can reinforce that type of message and still win. That carries a lot of weight. He came out and played with his hair on fire, and then he’s the first person to grab me at the end of the game, and tells me he loves me.

“A win like this, it helps everything.”

And, please notice what Ranger Dan said; he missed A class.
Ask yourself what other school would suspend for a full half for a player wanting to get home earlier than scheduled to see his family?

Here's the blurb from the link.

Franklin admitted Sickels had missed a class as he tried to make it home for the long weekend during Penn State’s bye week. “Garrett has been a model citizen for us for three years,” Franklin told SB Nation. “We just had a situation where we had a bye week and some guys wanted to get home early for the long weekend. He ended up not going to a class.”

You come to Penn State to play school first and football second.
Maybe but really , what's his academic standing?? And I don't know, so if he's in good academic standing, what does Going to class do? My school didn't care if you showed up or not. Now if he's on the edge ,that may be the right thing. There's more to school than going to class

Apparently Coach Franklin has a team rule that you are not permitted to miss class without authorization. Franklin said originally violated a "team rule" and then revealed that the team rule was missing a class without authorization. You might not think it's a big deal, but you aren't the Coach and you don't make the "Team Rules"....

Can you imagine Urban sitting him for a first half just for missing A class?

Another reason why I'd rather be us, than them.

I think I m with 'Ro on this. Maybe he was still at home when CJF told him to be back on campus I think the miss class is a red herring but we will likely never know
