Does Trace deserve some of the blame?

Unless I missed it, I haven’t seen much talk on here about Trace’s possible regression this year. Has there been a decline in receiver play? Absolutely. But, other than that our running game has improved tremendously, which almost always helps the passing game.

Trace statistically has certainly regressed and more importantly what I see as a spectator. Right now he has morphed into a run first quarterback who doesn’t push the ball down the field. This is evidenced by his decline in yards per attempt. 2016 I’m fully aware of the deep ball offense we had but something is very off this year. Where are the deep shots to back the defense off? It works!!!

Heisman QB candidate with an outstanding running game should be throwing the ball at ease and it’s just not happening. Trace deserves all the credit in the world, but blame can be placed on him as well.
