DT Won't Wrestle GK

Talk about a walking refrigerator.
I watched the very well done documentary about Kurt Angle. He had to wrestle Sylvester Terkay. I knew the name but wasn't aware how big he was . He was huge and ripped. From Pennsylvania.

Strong, fast ,explosive.

Not how I would describe MY refrigerator, but yeah I get his point.
That makes Kerk really scary. Imagine if your refrigerator was strong ,fast , and explosive and went after you. 😆😊
Mine would beat the 💩 out of me.
Now I'm going to have a dream tonight about my refrigerator chasing me. Lol

Kerk is a big strong guy, Steveson type scary.
Wouldn't be surprised if he's a World champion soon.
Paris is looking pretty tough too but I think Kerks ceiling is way higher.

As the legend goes, Angle and Terkay grew up about 20 min apart but only faced each other twice ever -- in the NCAA semis and finals. (Terkay did not grow into HWT until after Angle enrolled at Clarion.) Both were tough, physical, 3-2 type matches won by Angle. After their finals match, Angle told Terkay he was glad he'd never have to face him again.

Angle had a point. The next year, Terkay was the undefeated HWT champ and led the nation in pins.

"I'm speaking out of personal experience ... it's like wrestling a refrigerator."

So, DT has actually wrestled a refrigerator. Wonder who got the first takedown?
Well, his youngest daughter attempts to wrestle every animal on their farm, so maybe it runs in the family and David has attempted to wrestle a refrigerator.😉

How the heavyweight division has changed.
I went to the Meadowlands ( 1984?) and saw the NCAA finals. I believe it was last year of unlimited weight. Tab Thacker weighing around 450 lbs won it for NC State. He looked like VW Beatle.

Question. How can I post a picture? . I tried copy and paste and it didn't work.

Yes. It was 1984. Odd year - three schools had two champs (PSU, Nebraska and OK State). Iowa won with only Jim Zalesky winning out of their 5 finalists.

How do I insert a picture? When i choose the picture icon it asks for a url address?
You need to convert any pic you have into a URL (for example I use an app called Imgur). I’m sure there are others that may be better but that’s what I use.

So I would go to Imgur, upload pic, then that would give me URL to the pic and then I can post it here. Wish it was easier

Thacker had a Penn State connection of sorts; before being the Police Academy.

After the 1984 finals, the NCAA champions wrestled an exhibition with the Soviet national team. How the hell has forty years has passed...?

This fellow was a fellow resident of 6th floor Pinchot Hall (aka New Castle House) and was a Lion Ambassador. He was asked to pick up one of the wrestlers. It turned out to be Tab Thacker.

At the time, he had one of the "econoboxes" of the early 80's which, achieved high fuel economy with underpowered engines and really low curb weight (low to mid 2000's) . They all could have come with this sort of edition badge.

There's a reason that 69 Camaros are on the road, but not 80's era Escorts.

Anyway, he told us that when Thacker got in the car it was a really tight fit and the car noticeably leaned and he just told him "Sorry man". I imagine most of his short life was difficult and he passed away early due to diabetic complications at the age of 45.

As big as Thacker was, it looks like the 270-ish lb Terkay had even bigger hands -- those are some monstrous meat hooks. No wonder Terkay was feared.

Thanks for posting. Angle was interviewed about the Terkay match and he knew he was in better shape than any other heavyweight. He thought his best time to make his signature move, fake duck under to far leg single, was late in match.
It worked perfectly. Great video of it on documentary.

Now that you mention it, that's quite a fist. You wouldn't want your face to meet up with his left hook.
