They stink. The OL is banged up (again), the defense can’t stop anyone and gives up countless big plays, and the new QB has happy feet.
They're in the awful position of having no pressure on D. Graham was their only threat. Sweat has potential and Barnett just hasn't panned out. Factor in their lack of any investment at LB and issues at DB, and it's going to be a tough year on D.They stink. If they had sat at #6 in the draft they could have had Parsons. Instead they got a good receiver but Hurts will never have time to get him the ball with the OL a mess after just 3 games. Hurts will be a sitting duck (or running duck) and lucky to survive. It’s just Wentz 2.0. It’s a good thing they signed Flacco and Mullens as backups. They’re going to need them by midseason. They're in the awful position of having no pressure on D. Graham was their only threat. Sweat has potential and Barnett just hasn't panned out. Years of bad drafts have caught them with a vengeance.
While I agree that WR was a luxury compared to more fundamental roster holes, no single player was a big difference this year. Howie did well to add another first in the next draft. If they had sat at #6 in the draft they could have had Parsons. Boom. It’s tough to argue with any of that. I find it hard to believe that Howie is above the chopping block this year. If this goes bad, then does Lurie really want a guy with that awful track record making three first round picks next April?
