Eakin Suspended

Since he's suspended and is no longer allowed to perform his duties, will the senate attempt a maneuver to remove him from office due to his incompetence??

Seeing how things at the PA Supreme Court are run, Eakin would get to vote on whether or not to suspend his own license....

Eakin will probably be encouraged to quit for the good of the court (or party). In actuality, he's going to be sacrificed as the latest bright shiny object used to distract from wider corruption and malfeasance. What about the other judges and prosecutors? What about the state police, leadership and rank and file? There are a lot more people sleeping uneasy tonight, hoping this doesn't reach them. This is kids for cash redux, on possibly a larger scale. The court tried to protect Conahan and Ciavarella at first, then when it became obvious, they were cut loose and sacrificed. Eakin is now the bright shiny object thrown out to distract from the reality that virtually the entire judiciary in the state is rotten to the core. The top jurists in the state are hoping this buys them enough time, not to clean it up, but for them to get out while the gettings good and with their nest eggs and pensions/power/reputations intact.

Fill me in on Jeffrey Baxter. Is he still with the OAG? Was he not a thorn in the side of KK?

Eakin is toast. I would love to see a trial, but I suspect Michael realizes that the writing is on the wall and there is no way that he will be able to survive.

When will Frank Fina be held to account? I suspect that this development may turn up the heat on Seth Williams to act. I have a hard time seeing how Fina can be at all productive in the Philadelphia DA's office at this time and it seems like Seth may want to take care of things sooner rather than later. I cannot envision Fina working in the DA's office for very much longer.

Nixon thru Haldeman and Ehrlichman to the sharks. After stonewalling and modified hang out didn't work. No doubt Eakin will be the sacrifice to save his brethren. I don't think KK will be silenced, however.

So when a person is accused of wrongdoing which might threaten his employment, you suspend him with pay until he has a hearing, then decide later whether to fire him? Hmmmmm. Quick, someone call John Surma and Fran Ganter and tell them about this new idea!
Hold on, dem. Before any suspension, they actually, get this, talked with him first.

It's quite possible that Kane really is a fruitcake.

I'm not really sure what she is. I do believe that if she would have stayed above the fray from early on and just methodically pressed forward she could have been headed toward legendary status. However staying above the fray does not appear to be in her wheelhouse. In the end she may be remembered best as a useful idiot.

My mother is a woman. I'm married to a woman. My daughter is a woman. I work with a lot of women. I really like women. That said...

Still haven't met one that wasn't a fruitcake.

You have just officially ended any chance you ever had of becoming a Pa Supreme Court Justice.

The biggest mistake Kane made - by far - was not walking into the AG office on Day 1 and cleaning house.

Would have raised a whole lot of static, would have brought down the house on her from the "pocket men" in the media....but would have been the better long-term option.
And all those folks who would have raised Cain? F%ck them anyway.....they were going to do EVERYTHING they could to persecute her no matter what she did.

I can see why she DIDN'T do it....but it would have been the better option. Some things are just too far gone - and the price paid in the short-term is better than trying to clean things up piecemeal.

All that said, ANYONE who espouses to seek the truth and transparency in this whole mess, damn well ought to be supporting Kane wholeheartedly. She has done more - as one person, in a matter of a couple years - to expose corruption within that brothel of Scoundrels - than EVERYONE else COMBINED has accomplished in ....forever.

On day one, she probably had no clue as to what she was truly dealing with.
I do believe she underestimated the level of "scuminess" in that brothel.

I think she should have known better.....but that's easy to say from the peanut gallery.

Still, she has managed to at least peal back the manhole cover that had been covering up that sewer. Not all the way, but at least a bit - and for that, I am grateful, and will certainly support her ongoing efforts..

Kane has also cleaned out a lot of drug dealers and child molesters

She could take down Satan himself and some partisan hacks would still find fault with her

I thought lgpsu was wishful until I saw that the poster joined in 2002,

I'm almost positive that there's a way to backdate one's registration date. That's why we've seen so many posters lately that "joined" in 2002, or 2005, or 2007, etc, and have only made 10 posts. There's got to be something within their persona management software that allows them to do that.

I think that when they are registered at any other Rivals site, but then come here to post, their post count reflects only their posts here. Hence, they can have a joined date of 2002, and still have two posts.

A little background:

Calson was hired by Fisher.
Cranga was hired by Corbett.

If Cranga's name rings a bell, it's because he was involved in the Sandusky investigation.

Don't know if any of it is pertinent. The whole thing is just bizarre. Pennsylvania is a beautiful state, but I am certainly glad I don't live there. The courts are out of control.

Yep. Its also bizarre that the people who are all up in arms over Kane not prosecuting the philly democrats don't direct their outrage towards fina. He's the guy who waived all charges against Ali (the undercover operative who stole $400K from the state) a few weeks before Kane even took office. Once that happened it removed any leverage the OAG had to compel Ali to testify and corroborate the authenticity of his recordings.

Fina sandbagged the case right before Kane took office as a nice welcome gift for her then sat back and waited for Kane to inevitably drop the flawed case/charges so he could claim to the press she was playing politics. Real nice ethical professional guy huh??

Were these guys involved in the pornmail? Anyone involved in that mess has an axe to grind and is not credible.

I also doubt that their attorney is working on contingency, so it'd be interesting to know who's writing the checks.
