Early Season Losses

SIAP, from SE Open:
157 Clagon lost to Parsons Army.
165 Austin Matthews lost to Wright ODU.
184 Dechow got pinned by Baker Princeton, who won the final by MFF over Ness UNC.
197 Wolfe Rider got pinned by Darmstadt FLWC, who then got decked in his next match.
HWT Miller Edinboro lost to Kasper Duke.

Gotta add in lugo losing 4-3 to a kid from app state

For the most part Daktronics had some interesting results but none that really fall into the true "upset" range, or were mild.

Rotert beats Studebaker
Hall beats Kroells
Zahid rocked Wanzek 22-5
Balow and Schultz over Steveson

Bunch of swing matches involving Minny and AZ State guys. After this weekend I think the Devils have some work to do if they want to be considered serious contenders. 25-41, 84, 97 all not looking so hot and 49 still needs to be worked out. Shields got beat by Short in OT but did manage to come back for 3rd. The Valencias looked legit as expected

Cowboy Open:

Derek White (who is definitely at Okie State) lost to Jon Inman of Fort Hays. Blake Andrews had gotten some hype as the mystery transfer this offseason - he took third, losing to Caleb Cotter of Central OK.

Jacobe Smith, who is redshirting, had good results at 74, pinning/teching his way to the championship. Andrew Marsden, who somehow is at 84, won both his matches by pin for the title. Geo Martinez had a close match with Clevenger of Ouachita Baptist (5-2) before techs in his next two matches to win it. Olsen and Moran also won titles at 33 and 41, with Moran pinning out.

Clagon seems to suffer from some head scratching losses over the last year especially considering how he wrestled zain and AA in the prior year. At times he has looked sharp

As someone that knows the family a little bit and have watched him throughout his career all I can say is this kid has a lot going on in his life and his ability to handle everything is not one of his strong suits. When 100% focused and properly in shape, he can wrestle and beat anyone in the country..the problem is him getting there..it's more mental than physical. It's a shame too since this kid has so much talent
