Eierman not going this season

Nothing wrong with Ferentz as a coach. Long term success. Good coach.
If you don't get the difference between a Paterno and a Ferentz that's OK, nor a big deal. We all have baselines.
I get what you are saying
I respect them both immensely. Ferentz did his damage in a little midwest fly over State with 2-3 million people and 2-3 star recruits. Hard to find ones that did more with less so consistently over the years. Kirk put a lot of talent into the NFL just like JoPa.

Trivia question.. First one to get it right gets a virtual high five from me. What was the head to head football record between Ferentz and Paterno?

I'm sorry that you were hurt.

Sounds like someone needs a hug and some positive reinforcement.;)

BTW: Why has this sparsely populated, 'fly-by', underappreciated University become the posterboy of such blatant referee corruption and constant victimization by "the Man"? Not just wrestling, but BB and FB too? Why does the NCAA and the entire nation want to hold Iowa down?
It just doesn't seem fair:(

EDIT: I actually like Iowa. Only other B1G team that I own gear. I'm just bustin your passive aggressive thing. I own WVU gear too, if you wanna slam me back. Taken a lot of flak for that over the years.

As for the last bit, that’s unfair. Playing up the Nazi Zombie theme in the Cael basement story, Ferentz was coaching against coach zombies most of that last decade - JoePa, JayPa, Bill Kenney, Dick Anderson, etc. Only about 2 coaches actually recruited and I’m sure game plans were just photocopied from the week before

I always find it hard to square the quote in your signature ("The only thing you deserve is what you earn") with the constant qualification to explain why the coach that has won more than the other coach isn't actually any better.

That Snyder killing Nazi zombie thing in Caels basement is a fantastic story! I enjoyed reading it.

Got it. The flagship school of a small midwestern flyover state can't compete for national titles since at least the 1990s.

Also, the head coach is not responsible for the quality of recruits on the roster.

Bonus question for virtual high five: name a small midwestern flyover state that borders Iowa, whose flagship school has done both of these things. The answer might leave people (cough cough) seeing red.

So you dont have the answer to my trivia question then?

My point of view is admiring coaches like Ferentz, Paterno, Fry ect. and their long standing tenures at their schools. I really just don't get why that is a problem. I'm not the one showing lack of respect here. Maybe you need to get out of PA and open your lion eyes a bit..

In all fairness there are a lot of similarities between Joe and Ferentz. You’re not wrong.

I am pretty sure that Paterno and Ferentz thought highly of each other.

As much as I try and try, i just can't seem to get worked up about all this stuff that you guys do.
I think I need to get my pulse checked.

Now trying to get a birth certificate from SC, which demands a death certificate from PA, which wants a SS# for someone deceased for 30 yrs. THAT can get me worked up.

It's a moot question at this point, but I haven't seen the issue of Eierman wrestling this season for Iowa being a real issue. From what I've read he wants to move up to 149. Lugo is already ranked #1 at 149. Granted I think Eierman is a better wrestler than Lugo, but it wouldn't make sense to burn both guys' last year of eligibility the same year. He would be an upgrade on Murin, but I don't think Eierman wants to go down to 141 again for folkstyle. But, as I said, it's a moot question.

Does he want to go 149?
Does he want to go 141?
These questions are the two moots. :)

Picture in uniform, location at Carver-Hawkeye. #timetoshine, a few hours before a big dual.

It reads like it to me, but I could be wrong. He could just be stirring the pot.

There's no way TnT would recruit over anyone. Seriously though, bummer for Murin if Eierman is burning the shirt.

I don;t see it. Sounds like you are stirring the pot.

... #timetoshine ...
I think Eierman is making a joke about Cael’s bald head! I can’t believe he would do that! So uncouth! The Hawkeyes must be stopped!! :)

[not sarcasm at you, bigs22. I just want motivation to beat Iowa.]

Eh. I saw a post and interpreted it a certain way, if you disagree and think I’m stirring the pot so be it, but that wasn’t my intent.

But, this is the second time in five days that the guy posted something that at least some people took to point to pulling his shirt. If he isn’t either pulling the shirt or stirring the pot than he has no self awareness. Btw I have no problem with him stirring the pot if he wants, we have had guys do it before As well.

Come man. You know better than that. More often than not JayPa got up to date fresh off the presses game plans right off his very own playstation.

I'm hoping they do pull the shirt. It would be the dumbest move those two mat monkeys pulled yet. Blowing a year for murin for points they might not need at nationals. Go for it I like Lee in that match anyhow

What if kem isnt coming back and they can get murin to say his shoulder is that bad he needs shut down...then gets 6th year next year.

It’s not so much blowing a year of points as it is having Eierman win nattys and qualify for OTTs

As much fun as the guessing game is:

Jayden Eierman is not even certified at a weight yet for the NCAA season according to trackwrestling: https://www.trackwrestling.com/seas...0847&twSessionId=zldfmqrzcd&loadBalanced=true

Also, he is not even listed on the Iowa website which I am sure all eligible wrestlers would be.

That being said, if he pops up on one I would guess that may indicate something?

Edit: the link doesn't work but if you look for the Iowa team, he does not show up on the list of eligible wrestlers.

Was hoping Eierman would go next year until Cassar's injury; then I was hoping the rumor he may go this season was true. At this point, Iowa is way ahead already so his points most likely would have been overkill. Oh well, at least they needlessly pulled Assad's redshirt.
Okay. FT is the first conceder I have noticed. :)

Oh god - please yes. Do it T&T. Bring Eierman out this year to widen the gap.

Since no one else wants a fake high five, I will take it.

If Eierman goes tonight, have to believe next season wasn't an option because he wants to move on to MMA asap.

Works for me; get his points out of the way this year when it looks like it won't matter.
