Don’t know if you’re right in your take but I guess I’m among the least likely to have been offended by nuance and angles below the surface. And I’ve only stepped into the test board political morass once or twice and left immediately never to return.

I find it incredible that due to a message board animosity a poster would attempt to destroy the livelihood of another. Well, on 2nd thought, I began posting on this site or whatever it was when I discovered it in the 1997-98 era. Lived through the dark ages of 2000 - 2004 and the more "recent unpleasantness". In that time I believe there has been a slide to a less civil back and forth. It has happened elsewhere so it is no surprise for it to happen here. Sad commentary on the overall state of affairs here and elsewhere.
Therefore, I sadly can believe a poster would, anonymously attack another's business thinking they would not be discovered or wanting to be discovered, who knows. If you decide to fall those depths of cruelty, animosity or anger over a message board, you have larger issues.
I'd love an undefeated season and playoff championship to observe the board dynamics when football dominates the discussions.

Who knows, but if MtNitt wanted them outed, he would have IMO. Other members on this site have stalked people, were reported, and they still post here. Yahoo owns Rivals now, so maybe we need to bypass Rivals and the mods here for these people.

Yeah, there's absolutely no excuse or reason for taking anything on said these boards beyond the forums. Trying to harm someone personally or financially is hitting way below the belt, especially since the desire to do harm is driven from something as trivial as political disagreement. I went through some of the last few threads he participated in (and they were all TB threads) and couldn't believe some of the vitriol (on behalf of nearly everyone participating). There is/was a small group of extremely intense posters who take discourse to an unpleasant level. I have no idea who would want to take their 'beef' to the point where you are harming someone personally and financially, but it's beyond childish and almost criminal. I certainly got into disagreements with folks (including MtNittany) on the McAndrew Board but never followed the threads once they were moved to the TB (where he and others here are a lot more active). I also took many posters advice about using 'ignore' so there was less temptation to engage in counter-productive rhetoric.
I did check out his Friday Night Jukebox threads on this board and that is what made me ask if anyone knew of his whereabouts (I noticed he stopped posting them sometime ago, and I'm pretty sure he was the guy who started the relatively recent, and well received tradition). I am happy to hear his company has recovered and always thought his line of work was the kind you would never consider 'work' if you were good/lucky enough to do it.
And what he’s doing isnt right. Don’t lose your soul because of an asshole.

Yeah, Test Board. It's where some go to *really* hash out political differences (not really - mostly name calling, trolling, etc. - it's less politics and more tribalism). IMO, it should be shut down. It's clear that stuff there bleeds into the BWI Board and there are probably more than a few folks who *only* post there. I also agree Tom and Hotshoe need more help moderating the board.
They long ago should have immediately moved all the Sandusky stuff to the Test Board. I argued that in vain. Fortunately, those threads are few and far between now

I agree it should be shut down because it does bleed into this board.
I think it is nuts that anyone would take anything so seriously on a football message board that they would track a person down in "real life" and do damage to them. If it is really true that this happened and you can trace economic damage back to this person, there could be cause for legal action. Did this person say things about the poster knowing those things to be untrue? Personally, I would pursue that, if only to make the point that they need to never do such a thing again. If it causes them stress, so much the better.
This is so bizarre that I have a hard time believing someone would seek to harm anyone in such a way. It is really messed up.

I totally believe it. There are plenty of sociopaths and bad people in plain sight. They can hide it to varying degrees, but the mask always slips.
There was a guy who used to post here who had a few “fans” - mainly people who egged him on because he wasn’t picking on their favorite teams, etc. I and a few other people who called him out for his clear-cut racism and assholish crap got challenged to fight on our profile page by this jag off. Finally saw a picture of him. Seeing his cruel face on his twitter feed, it didn’t surprise me that he was a nasty piece of work.
