Yes it is. Think about of all the radio shows in which Paterno could not say a recruits name until signing day. It is a violation and that is why the name was not said. Ridiculous
Was it a case where fans chanted his name and he stepped out to acknowledge the crowd? Or was he actually announced over the PA system?
It is and sounds like your coach is a bit desperate with all the crap going on with his staff to allow a secondary violation. Of course he can just adopt the Ahia State approach and just report them and apologize.

Believe he was announced by name, though not sure about that... but his name and picture was certainly posted on the video scoreboard, so it wasn't just the fans chanting his name. The school introduced him publicly.

he signed some sort of financial aid agreement with PSU previously. Its similar to what the other early enrollees signed.
Thats why PSU can do that. Im pretty sure they wont be able to do that with the other recruits next weekend.

i think he's seeing the writing on the wall and is getting desperate. He's cracking.
Find it pretty hard to believe that he's signed a financial aid agreement at this point even though he's still months away from finishing high school. Thanks for the insight, though.

1) I confirmed that Lavert Hill does plan to enroll early at Penn State. I apologize for missing that news originally. He's tough to follow at times, but I should've had that info.
So, yes, he would've had the agreement signed already...
I don't think a kid showing up at a hockey game constitutes an " official visit".

Yep. Not a violation. PSU vetted it with NCAA before it happened. He signed a financial agreement because he was going to enroll early.
It appears obvious because you do not have all the facts. When you do, what will be obvious is that you were wrong.

Sorry, but your theory doesn't pass muster. Any agreement that may have been signed was obviously for the current academic term at Penn State... and is now obviously void, given that Hill remains a high school student rather than a Penn State student.
He's still a prospective student-athlete being recruited openly by numerous schools. You think that Penn State gets to play by entirely separate rules of engagement because of a now-voided paper agreement from months ago? No.
Harb's is desperate. He sees Rashan Gary slip, slip, slipping away. Meanwhile, Coach James F'in Franklin is very quietly keeping his powder dry. I see a strip tantrum in Ann Arbor in the near future. Hope he keeps his jockey shorts on.......is that a NCAA violation? LOL!!
