FC: Vert Hill at Pegula!!!

Sorry, but your theory doesn't pass muster. Any agreement that may have been signed was obviously for the current academic term at Penn State... and is now obviously void, given that Hill remains a high school student rather than a Penn State student.

He's still a prospective student-athlete being recruited openly by numerous schools. You think that Penn State gets to play by entirely separate rules of engagement because of a now-voided paper agreement from months ago? No.[/QUOTE

Do you work for the NCAA compliance office? If not, shut up. You are making shit up.

Keep grasping at straws. You're amusing.

Yes. Same reason USC was announcing guys a month+ early. Penn State is still in the add-drop period, so conceivably Hill could still enroll until Thursday at 8 am.

EDIT: there is also a late registration period, so any agreement signed for this semester would be valid through the end of late registration.

Lavert Hill verbally committed and planned on enrolling early. There are quite a few articles out there regarding financial aid agreements. Here is text taken from one of those articles:

"So, in December, the NCAA, in an attempt to close this loophole before it became a giant mess, ruled that only the program that first signs a prospect to a financial aid agreement is allowed to publicize the signing and text or call at free will."

Of course it is. Can't believe that Franklin would be so blatant about doing this.

"13.6.7.9 Activities During Official Visit. An institution may not arrange miscellaneous, personalized recruiting aids (e.g., personalized jerseys, personalized audio/video scoreboard presentations) and may not permit a prospective student-athlete to engage in any game-day simulations (e.g., running onto the field with the team during pregame introductions) during an official visit. Personalized recruiting aids include any decorative items and special additions to any location the prospective student-athlete will visit (e.g., hotel room, locker room, coach’s office, conference room, arena) regardless of whether the items include the prospective student-athlete’s name or picture. (Adopted: 8/5/04, Revised: 5/14/05)"

Is sleeping in the same bed as a recruit a violation? or is it just love?

Worst case it's a minor violation and the penalty is curtailment of recruiting activities next round e.g. X number of coaches can't be on the road for Y days each. Figure that X * Y is less than 10.

Nice job 71! Trolls, however, don't do facts or logic. They wouldn't be trolls if they did.

No one gives a shit about your opinion.

I can't believe you are this big of a moron! Signed financial aid papers

Believe he was announced by name, though not sure about that... but his name and picture was certainly posted on the video scoreboard, so it wasn't just the fans chanting his name. The school introduced him publicly.

How can Franklin possibly be this sloppy?
Haha sloppy, moron!

I like it better when LionJim discusses math.

Sorry, had to dumb it down for our Michigan visitors. Last 2-3 days have demonstrated that they have difficulty with anything beyond rudimentary. Still waiting to read what a "tender" is.

"13 Year Old" day on the board??

Although Damar Hamlin recently posted and deleted personalized material on his Columbus hotel room bed on Twitter. He has since cropped the photo to a selfie of himself and the posters/pictures and made it his default.

Would it be an issue if he doesn't choose PSU? LSU got into some trouble a few years ago when some EE candidates that signed the paperwork, decided to go elsewhere.

Just asking, I honestly have no clue.

I can't believe a bunch of grown men are getting their shorts in a bunch over nothing. My guess is a few of them are emailing the NCAA as I type. Oh my God! PSU mentioned the name of a recruit we are after. The horror. Bet if Harbaugh did it they would be praising him

Penn St cleared it with the NCAA before they did it. No issue what so ever. You can't possibly think PSU would be that dumb do you?

I'm not clear on why we continue to follow any of the NCAA rules. They didn't follow their own rules when it came to our penalities. While I absolutely don't want our graduation rate to drop and to over sign recruits, I don't care if we turn into the biggest rule breaker in the NCAA.

Poor Wolverines. Rashan Gary just found out that Pitt has more National Championships since 1948 than mighty Michigan. The carpooling to Jersey doesn't look so good anymore. He just got an invite from Narduzzi, who will undoubtedly recommend MSU. :D

Nothing in that rule about what happened tonight, so not sure why you quoted it.

I was there tonight. Pretty cool, he walked onto the ice after they announced his name and had his picture on the video board. When we left Pagula, the stadium was lit and there his picture was again on the south end zone score board and the lights were on in the presidents suite in the stadium. Let's hope he had a good visit. Hockey beat Wisconsin 4-1. McAdam was great in goal. 40 shots by Bucky, one goal.

It is and sounds like your coach is a bit desperate with all the crap going on with his staff to allow a secondary violation. Of course he can just adopt the Ahia State approach and just report them and apologize.
Please go away and take your other Michigan friends with you. I hear there's some good water waiting for you in Flint. Have a gallon or two.

When RichRod was arranging extra practice time a few years back, he should have had you fans sit in extra NCAA compliance seminars so you might learn some things. Alas, it looks like he didn't and you don't know dick
