Final X

Jason Nolf was (is) CONFIDENT too. Theres no need to run your mouth on twitter, that’s where it becomes COCKY. Dont get me wrong, love the kid and all, just wish he’d tone it down, everyone knows (like you alluded too in your first sentence) how good he is.

Full disclosure, I dont even HAVE twitter, only get to see what folks post here.
..stepping off your Twitter lawn..

Did anyone notice that Final X / NYC - which will have most of the men’s freestyle - is actually on a Wednesday?? (June 8)

Final X / Stillwater is Friday June 3.

Yeah, how moronic is that. Also heard ticket prices are REEEEDICULOUS.

While I also would prefer Starocci back off the trash talk a bit, that is part of why he's so damn tough to beat. Say what you want about that approach, but his resolve never wavers. He's arrogant and cocky, but I'm sure glad he's on our side. Frankly, I wish I had 10% of his self-confidence.
I agree with all that. Honestly it was crazy to see him actually lose a close one late. I just took it for granted he was coming through somehow. He can definitely back it up.

Anyone know if a Final X ticket also gets you in to see the true third matches? I have a ticket for NYC but it just says 2pm and doesn’t mention anything about the 12:30pm matches.

Maybe Morgan can get another year or two of eligibility for being an awesome vet. Hole at 197 solved!

We often forget McIntosh has victories over BOTH Kyle Snyder and J’Den Cox.

Beat both in the same season (2015).

How many humans can claim that achievement ??!!
In the same postseason -- within 2 weeks of each other. Snyder at B10s, Cox at NCAAs.

The list of wrestlers who have ever beaten 2 senior world champs is very short -- let alone 2 of them within 2 weeks. Selfishly I wish he would've pursued freestyle for longer than he did.

It works for Carter. So it works for me. He isn't being derogatory or mean. He's supremely confident in himself. When he has lost he's only gotten better, so watch out.
Yeah, I don't understand why people are being butthurt about CStar being "arrogant" or "cocky." He's neither of those. What do they want him to do? Self-deprecating? He's a great teammate and is always supporting and congratulating them. They probably think Bo Nickal was arrogant or cocky too, I suppose.

You can be humble without self depreciating, without much effort at all actually.

Like I said before… see Jason Nolf, Zain, Matt Brown Morgan Macintosh, Nico etc, etc, etc. These guys never bragged about whose balls were the biggest (I actually liked that tweet hahaha)

Notice I did NOT use Bo Nickal as the example🤣

Oh, he's cocky for sure. And you know what, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with that. To be elite in anything, you have to have truly believe that you are the best.

Starocci just isn't afraid to say his thoughts out loud. I see no issue with that.

Still find it funny when people (particularly haters) try to use social media and interview demeanor as a way to make judgment of people's character. We're guilty of it also obviously, Tyler Berger from Nebraska got a lot of rap since he was a bit of a talker, hothead after matches and obviously his infamous Nolf post. All reports are he is a fantastic human though. Cenzo himself had a quarrel with him at Last Chance Open at the end of the match and he said Berger went out of the way to find him in the stands after and apologize and says he just got heated and he shouldn't have done what he did.

Yeah, these guys like having fun on the camera. As it shows, that stuff gets you attention and makes you marketable. Confidence (cockiness if you want to call it) and showmanship also is a mentality every top dog has, they just express it differently. I know a few people who know Carter and his family personally (same HS) All say he is a very respectable, kind and well spoken young man. Just very focused and goal driven (maybe not the most outgoing)

With that demeanor, you have to take the criticism that comes if you lose, so be it. I wouldn't change a damn thing about Carter but I draw the line at people actually making judgment of his character as if they know him.

I agree. If being confident is cocky to some people, so be it. Haters will find a reason to complain no matter what. In the day of NIL it’s important to get yourself out there. The world 🌎 has changed, ncaa sports have changed. I am old school and don’t like it, but completely understand it. RBY does a great job with this. Ferrari on the other hand is completely over the top.

Aside from NIL, many wrestlers (esp. PSU with Bo’s ATT facility in town) see MMA as their post college endeavor. MMA is 2 parts kick ass and 1 part hype the fight. Even if subconsciously, I’m sure most of these guys are adopting that MMA-type mindset.

The major difference between Carter and Berger’s “cockiness” is that Carter can back his up on the mat with his performance, while Berger was all hollow, false bravado. So Carter’s cockiness is legit, while Berger’s was nothing but moronic, WWE, showboating.

Chittum has been connected with:
Iowa (allegedly a done deal when he visited)
Ohio State (the initial favorite)
Virginia Tech
Nebraska (training there?)
Arizona State
Oklahoma State now
Of course, there are rumors he hasn't TOTALLY ruled out returning the Minnesota, he just isn't committed right now

Also, NIL and/or scholarship isn't a huge factor for him, his family is very well off.

I recall Mark Hall doing the sledgehammer after a really big win. Some folks threw shade and others, myself included, thought it was awesome.
