I was on the campus of Kean University in New Jersey today when I happened upon this sign:

It wasn't what I thought it was and by all means should have been. Major flags to Kean. I will never set foot on that campus again.

I remember that game. The Beavers did not play. Show up maybe, but they played no football that day. Many "you were a little hard on the Beaver last night weren't you Ward" jokes were made in post game tailgate.

On that note, I always wondered why South Carolina never played Penn State. I figured it was simply because the jokes would just write themselves when they visited the Beav. But it turns out they have played before - a two-game series in 1940 & 1941.

I seem to recall a good number of Beaver message board enthusiasts visiting our fair board that summer to, ahem, "warn" us about the fly sweep.

I hope we renew that game at some point, and I hope those folks come back here to "warn" us again. That's rivalry.
