Forde's 25 QBs to watch in 2017

McCown and Darnold at #1-2
Barrett at #5
Wimbush at #8
McSorley at #10
Speight at #23

Thoughts????

Not sure why Wimbush is that high... yes he has tools but zero experience. I don't put him ahead of McSorley at least until after the season and he has a finished work product to judge. Little surprised Speight is that low ...

in fairness... its not a list of the the best Qbs in 2017, he states in the opening paragraph that its a list of the most intriguing

Not surprised by Darnold. He made throws in the Rose Bowl that most pro starters can't make. Besides that he is poised and smart. Future NFL Hall of Famer in my opinion.

What are they trying to watch with Wimbush. Maybe whether his coach shakes him and swears at him after the first INT he throws?? Kid has no experience and just because he was highly recruited, that won't help him win a game at ND, and really doesn't offer much more hope for a big splash season than if ND was starting a true freshmen. Hopefully he doesn't win too many and he helps ND fire Kelly and get someone that's a closer image builder to what they claim they stand for.....

I, for one, am looking forward to watching Wimbush and the Irish. Last year was ND's cycle year and they had an awful record; one of the worst in modern ND history. Then, expecting to have experience at the QB position, both QB's bail out. (Kizer, BTW, looked pretty good for the Browns last weekend). So Kelly's redemption year rests on the arm, legs and brain of a kid that has only thrown six passes in competition in the last, almost, three years. Lots of pressure on the kid. And another 4-8 would probably spell the end for Kelly at ND.

USC will lose to Utah. Book it
Why? Utah is at USC a week after playing Stanford. Revenge game for USC. Utah lost 3 or 4 OL and I think their entire secondary. The latter is not good if you are going against one of the best passing attacks in the country.

I will take that bet right now and give you 7 points.

Darnold played great in the Rose Bowl. He made some real tough throws in the clutch. But what throws did he make in that game that most pro starters can't make? I don't recall.

Like maybe Joe Morehead? I'd rather Brian stubble to success every couple of years that creates the belief they are going somewhere only to be beaten down again. Just sayin'

I second this. I just assumed that Lemonpie doesn't watch pro football.
