Former players' testimony about Franklin

You were essentially another protein blob to him.

I’m assuming he’s not married as I can imagine his interaction with others.

This guy is married. I should have known he was a dope. He had been with the Cleveland Clinic and was recruited to come to Central PA. Sort of like leaving the Yankees to play ball in KC.

I have found that most people who claim to hate doctors shift their position once they really need one.
As a physician surly you must realize that there are good and bad doctors. Although I tend to believe that the good far outnumber the bad. Unfortunately the actions of the bad garner all the attention. However I do love Lou Holtz comment regarding your profession; “Life ain’t fair. Go to medical school and finish last in your class and everyone calls you doctor. Last year I went 11 and 1 and finished second in the Nation and everybody called me an idiot”,

All true.

My feelings are the result of a botched by-pass, four surgeries in one week, subsequent misdiagnosis of a resulting condition, and a circling of the wagons by the incompetents who nearly killed me.

Those I meet in business are almost always, 80% of the time, know it alls who will not listen to experienced advise on business matters.

Nah, I only consult with them when I have no alternative, and I never listen to them without questioning their opinions.

63 years of life experience have taught me that most physicians are lazy bastards who compound arrogance with stupidity.
Nothing personal, but as a physician I certainly hope you never come to my hospital. I would guess that most good docs will avoid you like the plague if at all possible. We're busy enough taking care of reasonable patients.

Doc friends said app 1%-10% of patients are fully compliant. My wife and I will tend to go over board in helping ourselves or doing extra ( nothing contraindicated though).
How many patients are over weight? Smoke? Drink to much . Don’t exercise? Follow up with home care? And so on.

I guess it is "unreasonable" of me to expect that when I go in for by-pass surgery the surgeon closes me up properly and does not have to open me again to deal with the bleeding his incompetence allowed

Then, when we have the second surgery, he causes further damage that results in two additional surgeries within days.

He later lies to me, failing to tell me the full truth of why I went through this mess. My wife inquires and gets the full story from a nurse. The hospital and doctors circle the wagons and protect their collective asses.

Then, dealing with pain, I seek treatment from another set of local docs. I eventually go to Johns Hopkins, where they tell me I was diagnosed incorrectly and medicated badly. I give them credit for honesty and competence lacking in Central PA physicians.

Then you have my experience with the cardiologist.

I could add my wifes experience with breast cancer. Again, only a trip to a Philly oncologist saved her.

HOW DARE I QUESTION THE MEDICAL PROFESSION!!! Well f you too. I pity the people who come to you, you are a classic example of the medical pro with a God like opinion of themselves. With your attitude, and likely lack of competence, I won't have to worry running into you at Johns Hopkins.

I dont drink, dont smoke, I was active until I was nearly killed. I lost weight and followed a strict diet. I did all I was asked to do. I attended what now proved to be worthless rehab. I took prescried medication that was of no value to my condition.

No, doctors need to be questioned time and again. They often lack competency. They more often than not treat people like patients and not human beings.

Certainly many.....but certainly not most.

That’s why they have malpractice insurance...sounds like you have a rock solid case if everything happened as you say.

100% true doctor story.

I somehow survived one year of post botched surgery hell. I go to my cardiologist, who knows all I went through, for an annual exam.

He tells me he Is ordering “ a detailed test where the tech will place a heavy camera like device on your chest to give us a detailed look”.

Fine. I have the test with the heavy camera like device, and return to the cardiologist for my findings.

Cardiologist enters the exam room, 30 minutes late, with my file in his hands. He opens the file, lifts a couple pages, and as God is my witness, says he is ordering”a detailed test where the tech will place a heavy camera like device on your chest to give us a detailed look...”

I got up, took the file from his hand, and tossed it in the waste can. I told him to go f himself. He told me I can’t speak to him like that. I told him, “ I just did and will again.”

I walked out and never went back.

This is one reason why I’m not a physician apologist.

That's fair and I apologize. I don't know you or anything you've gone through.

While I don't think going live on social media when things in your career weren't going your way was the best way to go about things, I understand it was probably to let the public know what you were going through. It just seemed like you were doing too much and had all these emotions going on and that were built up.

I wish you the best of luck in life going forward. Don't let your injuries on the field determine your future.

Signed,
Punky McPunkerstein

I can only speak for myself, but I respect the hell out of you guys. You pour your heart and soul into this. We're not the ones beating up our bodies and sacrificing our time and our energies for that program -- you are. And I think the vast majority of people here would agree and thank you for busting your ass and representing the university well.

Some of us fans can get carried away sometimes. That's for sure. We love this program and root like hell for it. But it's you all that make it happen. And you certainly have our support.

Dude, you don't need a doctor. You already know everything.

You don't even consider the possibility that you are part of the problem? Whatever. It's your life.

I tried to make amends, but all I can do is laugh at this now. You're doing too much again.
