Fourth best team in the SEC West?

I read somewhere that there is one other team that has beaten 2 ranked teams in the first 3 weeks. Was it Bama? And isn't one of those ranked teams they beat now unranked? Whereas the 2 ranked teams that PSU beat are both still highly respected by both the media and the coaches in the polls.

PSU is undefeated against the SEC's ranked teams. How many SEC teams will be making that statement a few weeks from now.....

Given any regard, or even listening to, any of the SEC hype is a waste of time. Instead of trying to put PSU down the SEC hype train should try and address the obvious bias and poor quality of their officiating. Something that anyone that watched this past weekends PSU/Auburn game would like addressed, and something that a self proclaimed top college football conference should surely be embarrassed by.........
Iowa beat Indiana and ISU

Yep, so there are 3. But IU has been exposed as totally unworthy of being a top 25 team, and I'm betting that trend continues for IU.

But Bama beat the U and then the U now looks like a 2nd 50 team. So far Bama's win over FL looks legit, but the win over Miami is not a resume builder at this point. So the SEC's top team has not beaten a ranked team from another conference. But PSU has.

Bama beat Miaimi (ACC) 1st game of the year and Miami was ranked.

Yep, I know. And they were seriously over rated and likely won't be ranked again this season.

That was the point of what I said. Bama also beat 2 teams were ranked at the time, but only one of them now has the resume to be ranked, FL.

Same with Iowa. Iowa beat Iowa St, who is still ranked. But their win over IU should not be considered a win over a ranked team. IU will likely end up as a .500 team, or worse, in the B10.

It seems like a pretty safe bet that neither Miami or IU will be ranked at season's end, although Miami playing in the weakest P5 division in college football should allow them to rack up some UNquality wins........

Well, without a pounding running game, I can see where any of Georgia, Florida, Texas A&M, and 'Bama would be more than Penn State can handle right now, but that's all of the SEC, not just the West.

Saturday has come and past the Kent Chetsney concert was never meant ta last, wake me up when, wake me up when the fake algebra test ends

Agreed - none of this matters. I’m more concerned with how OSU, Michigan ,Iowa, MSU, Maryland, and Rutgers do. Each of these teams are capable of beating Penn State if we don’t play well. For now - Villanova, Villanova, Villanova. Let’s be 1-0 this week.

Huh, I understood exactly what he meant.
Sorry, it's either bad geography or poor sentence construction.

But enough on that.

Since we're talking about Clemson, I think Mack Brown's recruiting at UNC where he is getting a ton of the best NC prospects is a factor in Clemson being down a bit from their best recent levels. Clemson was recruiting well in NC, but UNC is winning many of the North Carolina recruiting battles.

What is funny about SEC Pussy Paul not be impressed is that he then basically retweets a comment from Kirk H. where he says Auburn could give Bama some challenges when they play in Iron Bowl.

So which is it Paul? Auburn is better than you are wanting to say (thus you have to give Penn State credit) or Bama is not much better than Auburn? 🤷‍♂️

2 sided talk.

Huh? You're entitled to your opinion on the relative strength of the teams, but you don't get a pass on basic geography.
Guess I should have said “would be the second best team in GA”, but I didn’t think I had to get that nitpicky….apparently I do.

You do know that Clemson is in S. Carolina, right?
Columbia, to be specific.
Sheesh.

Analogy

The claim made was that “ifPSU were in the SEC West, they would be the 4th best team”

his claim

“If Clemson was in GA they would be the second best team in GA”

cone on guys!!!’

In the last 11 years OHIO St. has played Iowa twice. Penn St. has played them 7 times.

In the same time frame Alabama has played Georgia twice ( regular season).

Stacking the deck. Ohio St. is rewarded with the easiest cross rivals, Alabama gets a gimme with Tennessee each year.

Iowa can lose twice this year and still have a chance to go to the Rose Bowl.

Not a great take here. PSU isn't "great", but UGa and Bama are the only 2 teams that can wear that crown right now. UF has no QB play to speak of. LSU cannot run the ball. A&M was simply overhyped. The problem for PSU is Iowa, UM, tOSU, and MSU all still reside on the schedule along with 2 teams who make the PSU game out to be their Super Bowl every year. I don't see anyone in the east or BT not dropping at least one game. It's an even league where as the SEC has 2 absolute monsters and everyone else.....hell that is pretty much it. I'm not sure how those 2 don't end up playing for the MNC unless they meet in the semi-finals first.

I’m not ready to crown Bama and Georgia just yet. Who are Georgia’s difference makers on offense? Yes, the defense is a monster, but they have some dude who seems like Phil McConkey’s grandson starting at WR! The RBs are good, but no Todd Gurleys are back there. Bama is loaded as usual, but a mediocre Florida team took them to the wire.
