BEFORE this next game against Maryland. His D Line is being held EVERY GAME and there should have been about half a dozen holding calls on Minnesota today. Franklin needs to say SOMETHING about this in the press conference and he needs to do it on Monday at the latest.

I would prefer our games are called by other conference ref crews.

Chirp about officials at your own risk.
Because complaining about a lack of holding calls could very well result in a bunch being called on the PSU offensive line. Those guys are also quite skilled at grabbing and clutching. Many here just don’t see it through their Blue & White glasses.

What would that achieve? Calls against his own linemen for holding (which they do)

Yeah it's like the neighbor complaining to the cops about cars speeding through the neighborhood. Then they set up a speed trap and who's the first one gets caught? The one who dropped dime.

Maybe we just teach our OL to hold better. We've been bitching about this since at least the 80s

He's never going to call out the officials in a presser. We want it but its not reality.

I've watched a ton of football in my life, but I cant tell you what holding is / isn't these days. Agree it works both ways and we may be just as guilty, but when you have so much more talent than the other team, the non-holding calls level the playing field too much these days.

Just hire the OSU OL coach, OSU O linemen do it best, they are skilled, they are taught.

Why do you think he hasn't already? Most teams will send replays of plays where they think there were bad or missed calls into the Big 10 every week. PSU has likely already done this on a weekly basis for many holding calls. The problem is that there's no accountability or transparency regarding officiating, and nothing changes in terms of how poorly games are being called. The officiating in CFB in general this season has been pretty bad, not just in the Big 10. For a sport worth billions of dollars they need to do better.

This is a common theme throughout CF.

During the PSU-OSU game a few weeks ago, the OSU fans were going crazy over the PERCEIVED holding (on their Eleven Warriors site) by the PSU OL against the OSU DL - especially on their 2 DEs - Sawyer and that JTT guy. That was just BS.

Same thing yesterday during the OSU-Indiana game. Indiana's excuse ---- the OSU OL held on every play. Just BS.
I didn't hear the normal screaming about Indy's OL holding from OSU. It would have been absolutely comical if they did as the OSU DL was blowing up the Indiana OL on almost every play. After a while, I thought that the Indiana QB stood a decent chance of really getting hurt and the Indiana OL was supposedly one of their strenghts. There were a few times when OSU had 2 and 3 players arriving at the QB at the same time - it was ugly if you were an IU fan-follower. In several cases, that IU QB was getting rid of the ball before his WRs were ready for it

Oh good God. Do you really think that the OL kids that OSU recruits out of HS are that subpar and if they are, their coaches can't develop them. Granted, their OL might be their lowest rated group, but I'd almost bet that if you go back and look at their HS ratings that the OSU OL, as a group, is still in the top 10 to 15% nationally

There is a process for addressing poor officiating and it doesn't include whining to the press. Game tapes are reviewed after each game and plays with questionable calls / no calls are sent to the league office for review. CJF complaining about officiating in public wouldn't be advisable because he could be fined for spouting off depending how critical his criticism was. The BIG doesn't like to be criticized in public.
