I hope CJF and Kraft submit a formal request to the B1G Commissioner asking for a formal inquiry into Joel Klatt's (FOX Sports) on-air statement....

We did--we played handsy defense and our OL held on every play like they did
Klatt literally said "they let them play" which is both sides not one.
Being a Penn State fan isn't blaming the refs--or shouldn't be
Literally it's all you post about
Lando still thinking anyone in their right mind would still believe he's an actual fan because he starts, literally, every post with "we". 😂

It is very amusing, but also indicative of how morbidly pathetic (and simple) this loudmouth tool truly is.

Klatt said it multiple times while reviewing plays where duhO$U got away with clear and obvious penalties which Klatt identified as being clear uncalled penalties and used the the statement that the B1G Officiating Crew told the FOX Crew that they "we're going to let them play today" as an EXPLANATION for the non-calls on duhO$U. Klatt never used the statement during the broadcast while reviewing a play to say that PSU got away with a clear penalty - not once. But don't confuse the a$$munch troll with something like facts.

Some historical perspective:

Long before PSU Joined the Big Ten:

1) I used to live in "Chicagoland" in the 70's and I remember Ohio State and other Big Ten fans complaining that Michigan was sort of "teacher's pet" within the conference. There was particularly a common complaint about offensive holding and one time OSU coach Woody Hayes, IIRC, had his D-Line wear tear-way jerseys during a OSU-UM game to prove a point.

2) Meanwhile, as an independent PSU had two or three undefeated seasons without being named national champion. Thus led to long-time PSU fans having something of a persecution complex.

PSU's entry into the B1G did not go smoothly

1) This was decided by the presidents without informing the ADs, some of whom were against having PSU join. the result was that Penn State was not exactly welcomed with open arms by the rest of the league.

2) Anyone who was a PSU fan from 1993 on can list off several instances of weird/bad calls going against PSU, especially against Michigan and, to a lesser extent, OSU. Combine the 'red carpet treatment' we received when joining with the persecution complex we carried with us to begin with and it's not surprising PSU fans often suspect bias. Stories of one ref in particular who was an open UM fan being allowed to ref PSU vs UM games were going around.

3) The Sandusky Scandal obviously didn't help us. There is likely to be a subconscious bias against PSU from some officials that carries over because of that. "You're lucky to even be playing", one ref once told a PSU player who questioned a call.

So for those of you from other fan bases who log in here and wonder why all this crying, this is some of the back-story.
And let's not forget about our favorite b1g basketball "official" Sam Lickliter. Who, by coincidence was inducted into the osu basketball hall of fame in 2009.

Very good. Another factor is when we first joined the league the consensus was it would take five years or more for us to build up to B2G quality. We just okayed those weak eastern teams like Pitt, WVU, Syracuse and Judy couldn’t compete week after week in that big bad oh-so-tough league.

Then we won the league title in the second year which they took as an embarrassment. And they never forgave us for having such audacity.

Correct - you only get blatant holding (both offensive & defensive) and PI on an every play basis when you don't call it early. Again, we're talking about beyond blatant and obvious penalties here - not ticky-tack stuff. There is ZERO precedent for ignoring BLATANT penalties contrary to what AlwaysWrongo posing-troll douchebag is saying.
I have to agree with raising this to the league level. I would also suggest looking closely at every big game that OSU has had over the years. I will suggest that they don't get blatant calls against the non conference games and the games where they are two or more touchdown favorites in the Big Ten. The real problem is when they are in tight games. They don't need the blatant calls in blow outs so average stats are meaningless.

I am reminded of the the game a few years ago when the ball bounced on the ground that they called a catch and the field goal after they took too much time. That was a tight game.

I hope we get to see them in the playoffs with non-Big Ten officials! Refs are supposed to make the game fair and not throw the game for financial reasons.

Here is a post from earlier in the thread:
Another question to ask is , did the BIG inform OSU? They told klatt so there is a chance they told OSU which would give OSU an advantage.

How does "letting them play" translate into OSU having an advantage? If the refs are ignoring infractions, that does not in itself favor 1 team. Calling me names does not change that. PSU lost the game, just like OSU lost to Oregon. Close, but no cigar. Time to move on.

It takes our best player (Drew Allar) out of the picture -- half the PSU offense. He is much better than OSU's QB. Make the game a slugfest in the box and the underdog has no chance.

I've watched PSU for decades and have seen many games where PSU was much stronger in the trenches, but then got beat by the other team spreading the ball in the short passing game. So if you can just mug receivers, particularly at the LOS, then that sort of game is impossible.

In effect, by not enforcing defensive holding/interference, the referees changed the game itself. They made it less competitive.
