Much better than Pitt, Rutgers, and Maryland posts. Every year since I was kid, those UM/OSU are the ones I look forward to playing the most. Due to age I wasn't a PSU fan pre- Big 10 era, so it's all I know. A national title, much less a Big 10 championship can never be won without beating those two. Unlike the pre-Big 10 era, PSU plays these elite program year in and year out. In my opinion there is no such thing as a successful season without beating those two. No different at those schools. For example, John Cooper had a dominating record, but each year he lost to Michigan and got canned.
Living in the Midwest, I can tell you Michigan and Ohio State fans view PSU the same way PSU fans view Rugters, Pitt, Maryland, Syracuse, etc. etc.
PSU has been down for a long time, even before the Sandusky mess. We all knew it would be a long road back to glory. However, if Franklin is going to succeed here he needs to start winning games that PSU shouldn't be winning on paper. Also he can't start off 0-8 or 1-7 against Michigan and Ohio State.
