I used to ride a Suzuki SV-1000S. I topped out at 135 in 4th gear, with 2 to go. Never had the balls to go faster on 2 wheels.Automatic car with 8 speed transmission- smooth and quick
6 speed m/c - 1 down and 5 up.

I have, but only on a very wide open road with no other vehicles at all- northern VermontI used to ride a Suzuki SV-1000S. I topped out at 135 in 4th gear, with 2 to go. Never had the balls to go faster on 2 wheels.
we too, with a foot startermy dad (also a WWII vet) taught me on a Willys Jeep- 3 speed floor shift with a "granny low" gear. I wasn't allowed to drive an automatic until I had mastered that Jeep- including not rolling back on a hill when starting from a stop
*I may have referenced itOwn 6 vehicles, 5 of which are manuals, including a Jeep. Despite some benefits fading away (no longer get better mileage or performance with a stick), I still firmly believe they are better than automatics because they keep you involved in the driving experience.
My wife, obviously, drives a stick, and my son learned on one. My daughter will do the same.
One vehicle available with a manual no one has mentioned yet is the Honda Accord*. The Sport model comes with a 6 speed and one of 2 turbo 4 cylinders.
It doesn’t because they insist on every car being exactly the same. Let’s go back to actual stock-like cars.NASCAR doesn’t exactly embrace technology, which one might think would make the series more interesting... alas, it doesn’t
100% true. Way more engaging.Own 6 vehicles, 5 of which are manuals, including a Jeep. Despite some benefits fading away (no longer get better mileage or performance with a stick), I still firmly believe they are better than automatics because they keep you involved in the driving experience.

IROC was cool.
Punchline: The machine will release automatically once it's collected 3 gallons
Max I've done on my CBR 600 was about 125 but was in 6th gear. I'm not sure how much more that 600 still had but I didn't have the guts to find out on the road I was on. I do still want to do a track day. I live near Circuit of the Americas which has 2 long straights, the MotoGP riders hit 205 mph on the longer of the two.I used to ride a Suzuki SV-1000S. Riding on Circuit of the Americas would be awesome. My cousin had a GSXR 750 and we traded bikes one day while riding. He pulled over a couple miles down the road and said my bike was too wicked for him.Max I've done on my CBR 600 was about 125 but was in 6th gear. Helped a friend by putting a new battery into his 2011 LS3 corvette this morning. It's an automatic with the paddle shifters when in sport mode. Once the battery was in (and he could then also unlock the doors) he pulled it out of the garage and told me to hop into the drivers seat. Gotta admit that the auto with the paddle shifters was a fun drive. Makes me ALMOST want to consider an auto....

One of the vehicles I routinely drove as a teen was a large delivery van -- the kind that you could easily stand in and still have extra head room. I think it had 4 forward speeds. Thing I remember most was that it was a stick in the middle of the floor about 30 inches long. There wasn't even a knob on it for your hand.
Decades later I rented a U-haul truck for one of my moves. It seemed really odd to drive a heavy truck with an automatic transmission.
These days I really wish I could have another car just for sport, but being retired and seeing that funds are limited I can't pull the trigger. Most people in my shoes probably would go for it. Guess I'm conservative with money.
