FRL Discussion re: 197

Cyon, wrestled with Cael at ISU, had a good story. He was talking to Cael earlier and was telling him that PSU was most likely going to lose because Nolf was out. Cael tells him that they were still going to win. Later, while attending a practice, Cael points to Cyon and tells the team that this man doesn't think you can win!

Cyon cracks me up.

CP has a better plan.

I thought it odd too that they'd be wrestling off so late in the season but at the same time, they presumably wrestled off early in the season and Rasheed has looked much better since his first tournament and injury. A wrestle-off now would be useful to compare against the result of the first wrestle-off to see how far along Rasheed has come vs how much his success has been just a great cradle. Ben Darmastadt could've served the same purpose but he was probably unavailable.

As for criticizing Cael for Rasheed getting injured in a wrestle-off, insert eyeroll emoji here. Guys get injured in practice, they're not porcelain figurines. Weak Monday-morning quarterbacking.
agree. Don't think it is that much of a big deal and they should have brought up the possibility (even if they didn't know) that a previous wrestle off could have went the other way.

Gentlemen, I posted on the other 197 thread but I'll repeat here. Does anyone suspect Cael is a sly fox and held out his choice for points against Moore, maybe though the Big 10's to insert him in the NCAA's? Moore hasn't wrestled Sheed so possibly that provides an advantage where Cassar has met Moore and next time Moore may be better prepared to meet his charge. Just a thought.

I don’t think so. My theory is Shak got dinged up in the wrestleoff and Cael went with the healthier wrestler. I think Cael would have preferred Shak to “feel” Moore than not.

My prediction. We see Shak Saturday. If he looks good he goes against Buffalo and B1Gs. If not Cassar gets the call.

I’ll trust whatever Cael does. Both guys are really deserving but I think Shaks bonus potential too much to overlook

Not following. Are you saying Cael can wrestle Cassar at B1Gs and Shak at NCAA? No can do.

It was a wild guess on my part. Hope he is healed and ready to wrestle. Cael doesn't pull cheap tricks by holding out kids like some do to protect them in some bizarre manner. We will see soon enough. Can't wait for Saturday and the Hawks.

I like the Flo discussions. They certainly admire PSU and Cael, but also need to be objective in reporting and discussing other teams as well. I certainly don't always agree, but it is the only live wrestling discussion I know of and I find interesting and fun to listen to. The beauty of sports is that we all have opinions and love to debate them.

I listen to Flo pretty regularly as of this season, I do enjoy it for the most part. I am giving T-Row and Funky a shot too as of this week.
