This week we take a quick look at the Penn State Football and UCLA Bruins starters ranked as recruits.
I remember as a kid either watching the 1968 game on television or listening on the radio -- can't quite recall which but I think it was televised -- and the dominating performance of our great D that day.
On paper this game looks about as competitive as, say, Northwestern would be, but it's kind of cool to play a team like UCLA, a glamour school on the West Coast, that we hardly ever see.
I went to that game as well. Gary Beban was QB for UCLA and there was some controversy concerning a radio receiver in his helmet,
1) I expect a small role for Singleton today. If he’s remotely banged up don’t risk any further injury before next week.
2) UCLA’s offensive line is a mash unit, I don’t expect Garbers to play today.

Glad the coaches are doing an in-game tryout. Perhaps Chase Meyer will also have an opportunity. If I was coaching I would still allow Sander to kick PATs. He's 100% kicking PATs.

Ugly three and out for Penn State to start the game, as two passes to Fleming with one completion and one run with Allen.
For having one of the premiere turf grass management programs in the county, the field looks substandard.
I'm surprised they didn't run again on second down. Get a 1st down and better field position before opening it up.
It's fine against teams like this (usually)--but we can't do that next week
JF always mentions how they self evaluate and try to fix issues....how they still don't have an answer to sluggish, bad starts on offense and defense is discouraging. Is it poor habits at the hotel the night before? Poor leadership? It's just a very bad trend to set because better teams will make u pay.

The issue is when it happens it games it can't. Lots of great teams start slow. UGa does all the time.
It's never fine. Yeah, they might be able to get away with it, but ask Franklin if it's "fine."
