Football Penn State earns victory No. 5, defeating Big Ten newcomer UCLA on Saturday

Bama Vandy is why I don't complain about these games. Franklin beats the teams he should. Bama still may pull off a miracle but it's nice being confident in beating teams like UCLA with ease.

We don't know what will happen next week. Pessimism is understandable because of our record vs good/great teams but we truly don't know how good USC is. They're our second toughest game but we should be favored on the road. Today didn't make me think we couldn't beat them.

Didn't OSU win in a rout? They will definitely beat us. If Fox didn't screw up the White Out opportunity we maybe had a puncher's shot if it was a White Out.
You were probably certain that Alabama would beat VANDY?

PSU has played OSU tough often in recent years, especially at Beaver Stadium.

Let's play the game before you mark it as a loss.

I thought Martin had more than one carry. He did have a reception.
Martin
1 carry for 1 yard
4 targets, 3 receptions for 18 yards

Hard to believe they couldn't get Martin 5-8 carries.

UCLA really did a great job containing PSU's running game.
30 rushes for 85 yards. Katron only 3.7 ypc

Rushing game took a big step backwards.

If 35-7 is a rout, then what is 27-11? Both games were very similar from what I watched (drove home during 2nd half of Buckeyes games).

I still feel like OSU is an easy favorite, but your tone indicates you didn't watch the game.
My point again is Ohio State is clearly better than Penn State. Difference between elite and very good

I expect a 2022 type game where we hang around but ultimately lose due to a combination of us not being able to make clutch plays and they can.

I would love for you to be right but don't see it happening.

Right but we know Ohio State is better than us (more talented than us)
We've beat them before when they had the better team. It's not "expected" but it's not impossible.
Hell, we might be the higher ranked team at that point if they can't beat Oregon

As they should be. They went all in this year. They kept something like 6 to 10 guys who could have been drafted (Egbuka, Henderson, JTT, Sawyer, just to name a few) and brought in multiple high end starters. Judkins probably the best RB in the country. Downs is a top 5 safety. The Center started at Bama. Howard from KState.

Of course it took a step backwards, Singleton didn’t play. When you play without your best RB, your running game usually isn’t as good.
