Franklin's been "allowing" it his entire tenure so if him saying otherwise is meaningless or it wouldn't still be happening consistently. It's on him.
Their back-up QB played pretty well on that first drive.
Maybe, but putting up points first is big. Also, if Lions had run that play on 4th and 1, everyone would be screaming bloody murder.
I don't like it when we drop 280 pound defensive ends into coverage and then expect them to make tackles in the open field and play pass coverage.
That was a hell of an opening drive by Zakee Wheatley he was all over the field.
Yeah, if it looks this bad in early October, imagine what it's going to look like in late November.
Someone needs to be at the end of the field tunnel with a mild taser to zap every player before they take the field to wake them up. Consistently giving away the first quarter will be a killer against better competition. They'll get gobsmacked early and never have an opportunity catch up.

We replaced 3 corners that were multi year starters. Who expected the '24 CB room to be on par with the '23 group?

True...we also brought in multiple guys from SEC schools, a couple who were starters. It didn't look as dire compared to the Peach Bowl. And, Kalen stunk in 2023.

I still think the receivers aren't doing what Drew wants them to do--I think he expected Fleming to stop not run into coverage there
