Football Penn State earns victory No. 5, defeating Big Ten newcomer UCLA on Saturday

It's never fine. Yeah, they might be able to get away with it, but ask Franklin if it's "fine."
Franklin's been "allowing" it his entire tenure so if him saying otherwise is meaningless or it wouldn't still be happening consistently. It's on him.

Defenders attack ball carrier without breaking down allowing offensive player to sidestep and get more yards.

Big stop on 4th down though. That drive might have been UCLA's best chance.

Someone needs to be at the end of the field tunnel with a mild taser to zap every player before they take the field to wake them up. Consistently giving away the first quarter will be a killer against better competition. They'll get gobsmacked early and never have an opportunity catch up.

Maybe, but putting up points first is big. Also, if Lions had run that play on 4th and 1, everyone would be screaming bloody murder.
See--I would have gone for that if it was us too at this point of the game
But I do agree with the logic of scoring first is big for the underdog

For having one of the premiere turf grass management programs in the county, the field looks substandard.
Agreed....what the hell is up with our field? Looks horrible! Maybe playing on it when it was raining?

Also, what's up with that big empty gap in seating?

We replaced 3 corners that were multi year starters. Who expected the '24 CB room to be on par with the '23 group?
True...we also brought in multiple guys from SEC schools, a couple who were starters. It didn't look as dire compared to the Peach Bowl. And, Kalen stunk in 2023.

Yeah, if it looks this bad in early October, imagine what it's going to look like in late November.

Looked good last week, but it was pretty wet. If they can't get it going again, they may elect to lay some sod during an off week.

It’s a noon home game against a mediocre opponent so we’ll start playing well in the 3rd quarter.

Saw the deep post open up, but the play took too long to develop, and the line didn't hold up.

Agree, he has to get the team prepared. They need to get it fixed.

I still think the receivers aren't doing what Drew wants them to do--I think he expected Fleming to stop not run into coverage there
Having this much perceived miscommunication is unacceptable at this point.

Four home games in a row. Not at home again for four weeks. Time for improvement.
Looks like crap today.

Here's the good news. Wheatley wasn't called for targeting. Can't afford for him to be out vs USC with Winston already out.

Don't play at home again until OSU Nov 2 I believe.

Got to anticipate that and step up. Not stepping up and making that throw is on Allar.
