The equivalent of 7 extra schollies in 4 years (the only years studied mind you) would certainly be an “edge”. Might also result in positive impacts from building a brand that would pay dividends down the road.

Paid attendance is the method used for attendance by all major sports and venues, professional, college and possibly beyond. This is not new, nor unique to Iowa.
Oh...I know, and have always known, or at least for 30 plus years when I was around the guy when he was adding it all up. I just think it's silly to announce the number of people who paid to attend, when it is clear they did not show up.
Then....on the other end you get to announce not only the number of people who paid to attend a sell out and then add in a bunch who presumably did not pay. Those include ushers, press, etc.... Then add a fudge factor.
I really enjoy 50%+ of HR. When they focus on wrestling they really are some rabbid knowledgeable fans. Several are wrestling encyclopedias and most are knowledgable about the sport. In the off season they have more volume of interesting content than most other places.
Then there are the haters... It gets old PED state, Cael can't coach, PSU cheats. They just can't let go..... ever.
For the most part, there is little of that here, on BWI although maybe we are a bit too focused on tOSU. But.... there is a big difference in kidding tOSU about Tom's tan, trips to Aruba, pin chains, robes, popping off with big predictions as soon as Nolf got hurt and other silliness. Looking at that list, he deserves it. That said there is virtually no time spent on tOSU 'must cheat' to get 2 deep blue chippers at every weight...
Given the sheer number of top recruits I think Tom actually out-recruits (incl transfers) Cael in 'volume'. Cael just is a better recruiter on 'quality' and a better coach in terms of development IMO.
HR has another fresh thread today on PSU cheating. I am sure my response earned a block from about half of the 50% who have not already done so over there.
I keep hoping their recent ascendance stops the foolishness over there, but I won't hold my breath.

Andegre built a great stats-etc site. I wish some other wizard would build a filter for BWI that makes posts about HR invisible to me. I care about wrestling and PSU, but I don’t give a damn about HR.
I'd guess that Howard would have preferred to watch Lee from the stands, instead of chatting with him in the stands.
