Could be, but at the very least it says a lot about Harbaugh and who he really is. You seem to think that Cowheard came off looking like the a-hole here - would have to disagree; if Harbaugh finds this type of appearance on a sports talk show so objectionable, he should have simply said, "no thank you" to the opportunity. Agreeing to be a guest on the show and then being intentionally "un-interviewable" and disagreeable reflects poorly on Harbaugh, not the host of the show.
I find JH's shtick to be disingenuous bordering on offensive. He either really is like this and has these kinds of people skills or he just tries to act like a totally aloof prick, I honestly don't know which is worse. He's gotta be the highest paid public figure in the state of Michigan and he acts like a completely out of touch, unintelligent, gym teacher. I don't find it funny, sarcastic, or a reflection of his burning competitiveness in the least. I find it tone deaf, dilutional, self-important and immature.
Yea I didn't get the whole "bye" thing either when Colin said it. I thought WTF does that mean?
Mostly I just think it was Colin trying to be too cool.
But yea the rest of the interview was a mess, to put it kindly.

Many of the kids today are all about the media and social media like it or not. As a coach your going to have to stay up with the times to recruit and talk to kids in their language. If you refuse to use social media and come across like Harbaugh just did in that interview it will turn kids/recruits off plain and simple. They want to get excited about a program they are thinking about attending. It's really that simple. I see constantly changing with my kids. My oldest uses facebook to communicate the middle child uses twitter and youngest uses instagram. Kids want a coach who can sell the sizzle and sell the program.
Kind of lame. If he was smart he would have taken 100% responsibility. If I was scoring at home, I would put 80% blame on harbaugh and 20 on CC.

Exactly I am 80-90% falls on Harbaugh... Will be interesting to see what if any future interviews are like on TV if he changes his tune at all or still comes across as completely aloof...

Exactly, he comes across as attempting to be "intentionally difficult" - at one point I think Cowheard basically says that he's game for talking about anything Harbaugh would like to discuss.... Harbaugh still started of his response with the same intentionally difficult phrase, "I don't know"....as in, I don't know what I'd like to discuss or talk about....I have no preference....I'm just going to do my difficult Eyeore routine no matter what topic you try and engage me in....
I bet every recruit will now decommit and also bet Michigan shuts down the football program. No way the program survives this.
No one is jumping to those conclusions. Not yet anyway. Might want to give it a few years.
I don't know why you guys think this stuff will effect kids, kids are already eating this up on twitter laughing about it.

Overheard a couple of osu fans while in line talking about the interview and got involved. We shared a good laugh and we're all convinced Urban is going to use that interview to full advantage. Their disdain for JH was never in doubt.
About the only thing we gave Jimmy the BOTD on was the "bye" (week) "buy" (versus sell) "buh-bye" (adios) segment. And we agreed it sounded like he'd been out all night, came out doing his best "hi how are ya i'm bright and chipper" opening.. then was brain dead when the questions began at rapid pace while po jimmy was going backwards and tumbling down the steps into retardville.
but what the heck... way i figure it, meatwagon isn't going after the best and brightest.. to most of their recruits, Jimmy probably came across as one bright sonuvagun.

Little word of caution. This is something we know about:
It is easier to get rid of a HC via false framing once the press grows to dislike said HC.
Nobody is saying that this one event will cause a catastrophic failure. Harbaugh is brand new at Michigan and should be tripping over himself to sell his program. The interview is a sign that he does not get it - kind of like you.
