Harry Reasoner 60 minutes segment on Joe Paterno in 1978

You are an idiot. Those that worship at the alter of Joe are obviously the pitiful and sad
human beings. I am extremely happy that we have a young innovative coaching staff.
I think it's wonderful that our coach and all the assistants travel to recruit the best talent.
I love that PSU is a contender in the Big Ten instead of rolling over for Michigan and OSU.
What you call hatred is relief and confidence in the future. And you cult members start
a new "benign" thread about Joe almost every day. Get a life.
Once again, you can like Franklin and Paterno. Liking one does not exclude the other.

There's not a chance in the world that you're a happy person. You are filled with so much hate towards Paterno that you could not let this totally benign thread pass without interjecting yourself and ruining it. That kind of hatred seeps out into every area of your life. And if you're popular, it's likely only because you always pick up the tab, fearing that if you didn't no one would hang around you.

The asshole didn't ruin this thread. The rest of us are still here celebrating Paterno and Franklin, while calling out the asshole as an asshole.

Do you go over to the Bama board and say the same to those wearing houndstooth fedoras on Saturdays?
That gentleman retired with grace and dignity. Joe, not so much. He also kicked Joe's ass every time they met. What would you want him to say to the bama fans?

Maybe retired with grace and dignity but not so much during his coaching career.

And Mrs. Osprey is heard from. Two "happy"people trying like crazy to make everyone else as "happy" as them.

Ouch, you hurt my feelings. And we worship at the altAr not altEr you dim bulb.

I agree. I too enjoy now being just like everyone else. Bloated salaries. Oversized staffs. Yep. Football first.

We have become what Freeh said we were but weren't in reality. That saddens me tremendously.

What did Joe teach me? He taught me that academics come before athletics. He taught me on time meant arriving 15 minutes early. And he taught me that you play for overtime when you've tried and failed on the previous play. But hey, what did he know?
While I think Franklin is a good, caring, sincere guy, nothing about this program is cheap or even reasonable. I still laugh at Joe having a verbal yearly contract. I think Joe purposely tried to keep aspects of the program on an amateur level, but now the cat is out of the bag.
If a true accounting is ever done, the level of hypocrisy may make us another case study.
By that time, Frazier's name may be on one of the law buildings, which I guess will provide students a target for campus pranks for some time to come.

"Joe purposely tried to keep aspects of the program on an amateur level". I think so too.
He had his son running the offense.

This is serious babble by another of the obsessive compulsive and crazy cult members. Paterno never had a written contract because "Paterno was Penn State football" as we were reminded so often during
his far too long tenure. And to what "level of hypocrisy" are you referring. The one in which Joe claimed he
would retire when he could no longer do the job?

That is some seriously crazy talk. But I see some of your fellow nuts like it.
Walter, so your "Madame President" didn't get her landslide election and you high-tailed it from the Test Board. Now you want to make an ass of yourself here. Congrats.

Are you kidding me, Joe attempted to retire with grace and dignity. But John Surma wouldn't let him because Joe failed to prevent his nephew from becoming gay. And the media bought all the BS about Paterno covering up a crime, when it is actually quite obvious that not only was there no coverup, but there was nothing to cover up.

Wait .............. what????

Do you want us to cut the amount of $ we spend on football? Is that what you're saying?

"We have become what Freeh said we were" --- you think we currently have a culture problem? Is that what you're saying? If not, what are you saying?

What a nut. Joe had years to retire but even as a sick old man he refused to do so.
Get a clue.

He is just babbling like the other obsessive compulsive members of the cult. They are a sad
lot and I would feel sorry for them if they weren't so stupid.
