Head Scratching Decisons 2016-17

Wasn't there a questionable decision at the end of regulation in the Cenzo/IJordan match?

Fortunately, the lower seed didn't hurt him any :)

The passive performance by Gilman in the semis was my biggest head scratcher. If I was an Iowa fan I would have been thinking, you've been talking trash all year, and this is all you got? Almost every time Gilman shot his mouth off was a head scratching moment.

Brands ducking the Hokies again was a head scratcher. The Iowa fans trying to justify this cowardly move was just sad and slightly pathetic.

The NWCA issuing a statement that the pairings were altered to accommodate availability was a bit of a head-scratcher as well (i.e., they matched Iowa and Edinboro supposedly because they were the only two that could wrestle on Saturday or some such nonsense).....

Ryan packing the house in Columbus for the PSU dual, droning on about how Duals matter, and then after everyone is whipped into a frenzy, he trots out his backups at 57 and 74.....Truly a head scratcher

Isn't Ryan also President of the NWCA that produced all the crappy match-ups which were contrary to what everyone agreed upon for the NWCA NDS Bowl Series???

FLO deciding that Smalls doesn't need to be at Fargo, or Super 32, or Ironman because they couldn't find another warm body to cover organized animal abuse for them.

Me questioning the judgement of having Bo move up to 84....Head scratcher......Ok I'm done now

To me, the head scratcher, was Arizona State not putting Zahid at 184 and Anthony at 174. The weight pull affected both of them, and didn't serve them any better for this year, when they will need to move up, to make room for Shields and T Shirt.

The other, very obvious head scratcher, was Realbuto, and a 2 point lead, putting himself on his back with a very low percentage attempt to elevate Bo Jordan. He gives up 2 there, with riding time a non factor, and either Jordan needs to ride him out for a minute, or get another takedown. Allow me to add that he was NOT gassed like Mark was, he did not need that desperation move. It was just......stupid.

A third head scratcher, is Gilman, electing to try and ride out Cruz, instead of cutting him, and then engaging him for a full 2 minutes in the 2nd period. He could have at least got a stalling call, or a takedown, instead of getting a riding time point that didn't factor into the match.

Finally, Tom Ryan and Kyle Snyder, risking the entire future of a great wrestler, to get 8 extra points, therefore losing the national title by a mere 36.5 points, instead of 44.5 points. Clutch.

How Ohio State's medical staff could get BoJo's ankle ready to wrestle when he faced non top 5 opponents, but had no answer for flare ups when a top 5 guy came to town.
Just wait until next year. The situational absences will be worse. A bigger/stronger Mark Hall than last year will separate himself from Bojo as the technical gulf is noticeable.

A family who moves their 8th grader 900 miles to wrestle for a certain HS in November, then moves back to their original location in March...that ones a head AND butt scratcher.

That no one has posted that we could have red shirted Suriano and Hall and still won every match and the NCAA's (I think, didn't go back and confirm)

I posted earlier in another thread that I (and Cael & Co.) made an awful error in pulling Mark's shirt. We could have won that thing with Suriano, Cortez, and Hall all redshirted - WOW!
Next time I would do it all the same - that was just too much damn fun!

There will be other chances for them to redshirt. Nico redshirted before his final year.
