Not to that was the best run Penn State had in two decades. Penn state fans are delusional that they think just because 100k show up and they won a national title 35 years ago they are some elite program. Penn state hasn’t been a consistently top program since the early 90s.
Clawson took over a terrible Fordham program 20 years ago. A perennial 1 or 2 win team and turned them into league champs in a few years. He built a Richmond program that won a National title right after he left. It is incredibly hard to win at Wake Forest the way he has. The guy is a program builder, a developer of talent and extremely well respected in the profession. He has succeeded at places consistently that are very difficult to win. If Ruhle or Fickell will come to PSU then obviously you grab them, but PSU would be hard pressed to find a better coach and man than Dave Clawson. That is all.
I would be so salty if I wasted my time and money going to that shit show. It was bad enough I had to stop playing Zelda at noon.
I’m actually envious of people who can go to the games regardless of the outcome. I live far away and don’t get to many games. I wish I lived close enough to have season tickets and go to every game. I love the experience more than the outcome.
I will say this politely. The point i'm getting is that MONEY is the bottom line factor, not whether the guy should be here or not. Seeing as how psu spends a zillion dollars on who's bra is on backwards (yeah, i made that up), my answer is screw the money and find the right guy. If it costs more, so be it. [FWIW, i like Franklin as a recruiter, a man, and a coach of a top 25 FB team... just not coach of a top 4.]
Unless mediocrity is the plan. In which case... carry on!
How a team like Penn State can have such a putrid running game is beyond me…thought the boys played their guts out tonite…and coaches had a great game plan (where the hell were both last week?!)…but unless your play error free, you are not going to beat a team like Ohio State. And while we’re played well, with a good game plan, and with heart, without the running game it is not enough.
Still not sure where our next win is coming from…
It is beyond time for a change. This program is stale and is playing for moral victories…why can Michigan State turn things around so quickly while we slip into the abyss…?
If we stay healthy, we enter this game undefeated. If we stay healthy, Clifford runs better and our D is more stout up the middle. So I do cut CJF some rope... tonite was winnable and no one in CFB really believed that possible. With a full squad, we might just make it happen.
But now comes the aftermath and with um and msu ahead, this is going to be a very tough road. I feel for the kids... they played their hearts out and earned my respect in full.
I do think that if a change is to be made, it will need to be someone incredibly exceptional. I'm not sure that kind of of man is out there to be had. CJF is one helluva recruiter and i do remain hopeful he can gather enough players to bridge the chasm.
That said, can anyone someone please explain the love affair with Lovett????? THE best RB on this team is Lee.. he is the only one who can smash the other team in the mouth. Everyone else is a tonka toy.
I will bet dimes to donuts we can find someone who can establish a run game! And finish around .500. That is what we are taking about over the last two years.
If the recruiting is so great, how come our record is so mediocre? We are not tbe only team that suffered an injury or two.
