How long have you been a Penn State football fan and other ?s

When I started, I would never have guessed it would go so long. I just bought tickets one game at a time, and then one season at a time. Every year, I asked my wife if we could afford season tickets, and she always said yes, even when we couldn't because she knew how much it meant to me. I have to be honest and say I have some regrets, especially on all the money I spent. Besides tickets, for many years we drove up from Pittsburgh on Friday afternoon and returned Sunday, staying in a motel and spending money for food, souvenirs, etc. We had some great times, but in hindsight, I wish I had been more judicious with my cash.
Ah, the remorse of old age.. I completely understand.

I was bored and looked through my old ticket stubs and got to wonder about the other members of the BWI board.

How long have you been a Penn State football fan? For me, since 1968.
When was your first Penn State football game? 1982 my junior year
How many years have you attended at least one home or away game? Every year since 1988 so 26 to be 27
Do you have a consecutive home game streak going? I do not.

game i (surprisingly) most remember... the first mnc vs georgia. i was at syracuse visiting my Bf (which in hindsight was weird since we'd both long since graduated college... seriously, what the F am i doing in syracuse in winter??) and we wound up at some apartment with a few dozen frat guys drinking bloody mary's and anything else with alcohol while i watched penn state beat Walker and the dawgs. pretty much everyone in that room was rooting for the bulldogs, so i had to temper my enthusiasm lest i spend the night sans clothing in the 'cuse winter snow. so freaking worth it!

i most remember going outside at some point and letting loose with my best primal scream in celebration. then i think i passed out....

I grew up in SC and started going when I was a kid. Still remember seeing PSU vs Syracuse... Lenny Moore vs Jim Brown. I have only missed 1 game in Beaver Stadium since it was moved to it's present location in 1960. That game was the Temple game a few years ago. Up until that game I had a 51 year streak of perfect attendance for home games. I guess you could say that I am a fanatic!

I started watching Penn State games in '79 on channel 17 from Philly when I was 12. I was immediately a fan and eventually got my degree from PSU. My first game was BC in my freshman year('91).

Late 50's or early 60's when dad and granddad had stadium seats we sat in open bleachers set up in the south end - cost $2 I think and bought at the gate. Began seeing games in the north student end in '66 - JoePa's first season. To get out of the end zone and better seats we paid $2 to join the card section and had seats in the east 40 yd line.

I think I was born on August 31 because I knew I a needed a week to be able to understand the first PSU win in my life(which was against Rutgers).
