How many bowl games have you attended

1972 Cotton Bowl vs Texas WIN 30-6
1972 Sugar Bowl vs Oklahoma WIN* 1-0 (I accepted the forfeit ;)o_O)
1976 Cotton Bowl vs Baylor WIN 41-20
1997 Fiesta Bowl vs Texas WIN 38-15
1999 Alamo Bowl vs Texas A&M WIN 24-0
2007 Alamo Bowl vs Texas A&M WIN 24-17

That Sugar Bowl was actually recorded as a win for Penn State for a few years until it was reversed to the 14-0 actual score for OU. But if other forfeits can count, I feel just fine accepting that one to maintain my perfect 6-0 record. :)

2011 - Ticket City Bowl. At least the weather was nice. Nothing else good to say about that afternoon.

2014 - Pinstripe Bowl. Fun weekend in NYC.

2015 - Gator Bowl. Jacksonville is an armpit.

2017 - Fiesta Bowl. Great game, and the capper to Saquon's career.

4 Orange Bowls
4 Fiesta Bowls
3 Sugar Bowls
1 Cotton Bowl
1 Cap One Bowl
1 Blockbuster
1 Peach Bowl (non-PSU, obviously)

3 Rose Bowls
1 Orange Bowl
1 Fiesta Bowl
3 Citrus Bowls (winless )
1 Alamo Bowl
1 Gator Bowl
1 Pinstripe Bowl
1 Ticket City Bowl (yes I support through thick and thin)

Speaking of Dallas this will be my first Cotton Bowl. Looking forward to it, that will make 4 of the 6 New Years six for me.

Edit: I saw someone claimed B10 championship and several others claimed the Croke Park Classic in Ireland and I was at both of those also so I’m chalking them up as well. Those were 2 of my favorite trips ever including CJF’s first game as PSU coach in Ireland and first W as PSU coach. Ficken kickin’ it for the W. Also just because Wisconsin got our slot in the Rose this year I’ll throw in the obligatory “Did he get it??? .....NOOO” and leave it at that.

Citrus vs Auburn, LSU, Kentucky
Outback vs Tennessee

One other Citrus Bowl...when Iowa won on the walkoff vs LSU

I've always thought that game was THE Litmus Test in terms of how much of a "support through thick and thin" Penn State fan one is.

I'd guess there were 10-12K of us in Dallas that day.

That was a tough time to be optimistic.

For me just the Orange bowl. Was hoping for the Rose, son lives out there and was planning for a family get together. Anyone remember the Liberty Bowl from 1960 (might have been 1961), I made that one.
Took my son to the Rose Bowl win over Oregon ('94 season), took my daughter to the Orange Bowl win over FSU ('05 season) and the Rose Bowl loss to USC ('08 season), took the whole family to the Capital One Bowl loss to Auburn ('02 season). Was looking forward to taking my wife to the Rose Bowl this year, but that obviously didn't materialize. Not interested in going to Dallas for the Cotton Bowl vs. Memphis.

3 while I was in school and in the Blue Band, 1982 Fiesta, 1983 Sugar & 1986 Orange. Also, the Pinstripe and 2017 Fiesta Bowl.
I decided to join the choir and not the Blue Band. As a result, I took a fabulous 30-day trip to Europe and missed a Cotton Bowl win over Texas, a Sugar Bowl loss to Oklahoma, an Orange Bowl win over LSU, a Cotton Bowl win over Baylor and a Sugar Bowl loss to Alabama.

Two requests for you

1) Go to a bowl game next year
2) Keep up the streak

Joe Paterno once made the same request. Not long after the ‘87 Fiesta Joe was a guest on Ray Scott’s radio show. Ray, the great voice of Packers football, had retired in Arizona. He and Joe were friends, presumably since Ray did syndicated broadcasts of PSU football in late 70s-early 80s.

I called into the show. My main question for Joe was about the very different ways he won his NCs, with offense in 82 season and defense in 86 season. Joe replied that it was all a matter of personnel. Reasonable reply.

I told Joe that the last two games I attended were NCs. I had a chance to attend the 86 Orange against Oklahoma but did not make it. Joe replied that they need to get me to come to more bowl games!

79 Sugar as a student
Rose in ‘95
Rose in 2009

Been to a bunch in the last 20 years since I moved out here in 98. All Fiesta Bowl or Rose Bowl games, that I recall. My buddy is an Oregon alumnus booster / USAF pilot with access to private aircraft during that time so I've been a willing participant for some amazing adventures.

Ditto, except as a recent grad, not a student. New Year's Eve on Bourbon Street and in Fat City. Great trip. Thought I'd puke if I heard one more Ga. fan yell, "How 'bout them Dawgs!" But they were pretty gracious afterwards. Also have the Garrity SI cover framed (poster version).
My wife becomes apoplectic when she hears “Glory, glory, hallelujah” after that game!:D

Six bowl games for me, starting with the 2005 Orange Bowl win. Then the Pinstripe (which really was one of my favorites - we're finally back in action, pulsating overtime win, our guys celebrating on top of the dugouts - and we've been moving on up ever since), Tax Bowl in Jax, Rose, Fiesta and Citrus. Five straight string ends this year though, not going to go to Dallas.

we also got an ice storm down here around that Ticket Bowl. We were almost out the door to go but got worried as down here the way they take care of the roads is to "just let it melt".

Only one. Orange Bowl the year Cappletti won the Heisman but the not play due to illness. Meet his brother Joey who later died from leukemia. Game was against LSU and PSU won.

Those old SWC teams don’t like seeing you show up do they?
