Those old SWC teams don’t like seeing you show up do they?
No. I was also present for the following:
1. My very first game, 1964 in Houston as Penn State whipped the Cougars 24-7. Note: it was the week after beating 2nd-ranked Ohio State 27-0.
2. 1980 in College Station when Jeff Hostetler started at QB and led PSU to a 25-9 win.
3. 1989 in Austin as Leonard Humphries (whose son was a on the team until he transferred last year) returned a block punt in the 4th quarter for a game-winning TD 16-12. Strange, though, that not even the Texas people called that win a "fluke." Pre-Herbstreit, I guess.
I did not attend that Bowl game vs Houston in 2011. The loss was the first ever in the Lone Star State by a Penn State football team. It had defeated Rice in the early 1960s and tied SMU in the Cotton Bowl in the 40s.
